Happy New Year has dropped by around 10 – 20% at centres that we tracked today. Rajasthan circuit collected Rs 79 lakhs on Monday, which has gone down to Rs 64 lakhs on Tuesday.
A few centres have remained steady with 10% drops, but others have witnessed bigger falls. East Punjab is down, Gujarat is helping Mumbai circuit remain steady, in the Mysore circuit cracks began to appear as early as Sunday, business in West Bengal circuit is steady but on the lower side.
Overall, the film should collect around 13 crore on Tuesday as per early estimates. All India total of Rs 137 crore in 5 days is excellent, but the trend hasn’t been good.
Second weekend could well decide if the film will eventually cross the 200 crore at the box office. There are no releases in the next couple of weeks – Rekha’s Super Nani releases this weekend, but that film won’t impact Happy New Year.
The SRK starrer will collect around 160 crore in its first week, out of which the contribution from the Hindi version will be around 154 crore.
