One of India’s most successful directors, Rohit Shetty turns 42 today. The director of films like Chennai Express, Singham and the popular Golmaal series, has announced the biggest film of his career so far.
Rohit has said in several interviews that it was one of his biggest dreams to direct Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in a film. That dream comes true ‘Dilwale’, the title of his next which we had first revealed about a month ago.
The much-awaited announcement was made through Bombay Times. Shetty said “For eight months, there has been too much speculation about Dilwale. Shah Rukh sir asked me to announce my star cast and start shooting without much ado. So now, please let me make my film the way I know best.”

In 2014, Rohit floated his own banner ‘Rohit Shetty Films’ which co-produced ’Singham Returns’. For the mega-budget venture ‘Dilwale’, Rohit will be co-producing the film with Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
“The film has Shah Rukh Khan with Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Vinod Khanna, Kabir Bedi, Johny Lever and Varun Sharma. It is being made by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Rohit Shetty Productions. It is not a remake of any film and will release this Christmas” he said.
