Great Grand Masti is one of the biggest disasters of the year, as the film has collected less than Rs 3 crore on its opening day at the box office. Piracy has completely ruined a film that would’ve probably opened at 12-13 crore.
The decision to release the film a week after Sultan has also back-fired big time, as the Salman Khan starrer was not only the first choice at multiplexes, but it also ensured that Great Grand Masti didn’t get a wide enough release at smaller centres.
Looking at the occupancy for the morning shows on Saturday, Great Grand Masti could finish with lifetime business of less than 12 crore – which was what the previous film, Grand Masti, collected on its opening day! The losses will be huge. The film will struggle to even recover its marketing and release cost.
Meanwhile, Sultan continued its strong run on its 10th day at the box office. The film has collected Rs 7.43 crore on its second Friday to take its 10-day total to Rs 236.6 crore. A big jump in business is expected today, which will help the film get closer to the 250 crore mark. Only 3 films have crossed the 250 crore – Dhoom 3, PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Sultan will become the 4th tomorrow.
The film is also the 2nd highest Eid grosser after Bajrangi Bhaijaan and has beaten the 2014 film Kick in less than 10 days.

Sultan has registered a miniscule fall of 22 % from thursday despite GGM taking away around 35% of screens. Disappointed that @indicine hasn’t taken a note of that because they were expecting it to fall to 5-6 cr levels on friday. So much have been written about Sultan’s trend being below average which definitely isn’t the case. 300 is still very much on assuming it doubles its Friday collections on Sunday.
Had Raees released on eid then would have done more than Sultan on weekend and would have definately shattered PK lifetime. Dil behlane ke liye khayal accha he. Nahi?
Hope with this disaster along with KSHH 3 and Mastizade, the filmmakers stop these offensive and cheap sex comedies that are only liked by the brain-dead youths like the Mekanik SSS.

Sultan worldwide total is 438 cr. now. It will atleast add 50 cr. more from India means around 70 cr. gross which will take it’s worldwide to 508 cr. Atleast 5 million $(33-34 cr.) from overseas so ww total will be 540 cr. minimum.

According to Indicine Footfall of Sultan’s 1st Monday is higher than FAN’s 1st Day….Means if the ticket price of Sultan was not reduced on 6th day, then it will collect more than 20cr (Higher than FAN 1st day collection)….Which also means that SULTAN would have crossed 200cr mark in just 6 days….Now I really hate YRF…..PK Ticket price was same for the entire 1 week than why YRF reduce ticket price of SULTAN…..
