Emraan Hashmi’s Ghanchakkar opened to a decent response on Friday, but failed to show any growth in business on its second day at the domestic box office.
The film had plenty of competition as old releases like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (still running successfully at several multiplexes), Fukrey and last week’s release Raanjhanaa continue to do well at the box office.
In the North, Ghanchakkar was affected by Jatt and Juliet 2, the first Punjabi film to cross Rs 1 crore on its opening day.

I doubt that the business will pick up. It has received mostly negative reviews by the critics and audience also has given it a mixed response. I think the lack of humor is the biggest reason why audience hasn’t enjoyed it fully.
The reviewer here on Indicine said the other day that Vidyas cleavage was a delight- to me that sounded abit unfair on her or the film but after seeing the film yesterday then its true- the only lasting memory of this film anyone will take is indeed Vidyas cleavage to bed every night…! :-)
A total let down from what I expected of the movie due to catchy trailers, feisty songs and ofcourse Vidyas cleavage teaser…! The latter being a total delight forces me to give the film 3 stars but thats due largely for giving Vidya 2 points…! ;-)
