Gabbar Is Back Saturday (Day 2) Box Office Collection Update

The collections of Gabbar Is Back has dropped by around 20% in the morning on Saturday, which is a normal drop considering the fact that Friday was a partial holiday and business of films that open well at single-screens usually tend to drop on the following day.

Circuits like Delhi/UP and East Punjab have held up better today, while centres that we tracked in Mysore, Andhra/Nizam, Gujarat and a few others had lower occupancies as compared to Friday.

Unless multiplexes show huge growth in business evening onwards, Saturday business is likely to be lower than Friday. A 40 crore weekend will be a fair result, but for that Sunday business has to cross the 15 crore mark.

Gabbar Is Back is also competing with Marathi film ‘Time Pass 2’ which has created history at the box office on Friday. Last week’s Hollywood film ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is also providing tough competition at multiplexes in major cities.

Meanwhile, our prediction was once again accurate, in fact it can’t get more accurate that this! Check out the #IndicineFBO table below.

  • Flop for Akki, another 60 cr. I used to think he is just behind Ajay Devgn in stardom, but now it seems he is smaller than Tushar kapoor and Kunal khemu.

  • gabbar will cross 40 cr weekend In SHa Allah.
akshay is not getting his due dese days…movie should have opened 15+
anyways um xpecting wom will take it to a safe figure probably 120crs atleast

  • Very good collection – 13.05 cr not bad at all…
    timepass 2 – 2.70 cr (2nd highest opening) 1st was lai bhaari – 3.25 cr
gabbar 1-2 cr affect due to tp – 2….

  • Saw it today morning show in single screen theatre.
Theatre 40 percent full which is good on morning show.
It is typical mass masala film. Akki outshines everybody in a good powerful act.
Some illogical scnenes r covered by fast paced screenplay and editing.
Background music is thunderous which can errupt the audience.
Sunil grover(Sadhu) outshines the supporting actors and the villain.

Kareena is good. Shruti is wasted and let down by awful acting.

If u are bored of ‘pakau’ off-beat films, gabbar is your take.

    Ratings : 3/5

PS: (not a rip-off of ramanna as ramanna was 170 min long preachy film while gabbar is taut at 130 min. Also many sequences n scenes r diff. Ramanna did not have climatic confrontation!)

  • If anyone tells Ram gopal varma that he gives too many flops, he will say “At least I am not akki, he gives flops after flops”

  • Gabbar 2nd day – 12 cr
    3rd day – 15 cr
    weekend – 40 cr
    1st week – 62 cr
    lifetime – 100 cr
I heard that 75 to 80 cr enough to recover there investment…
so definitely movie will be hit…

  • Khans fans are dreaming of 300 cr, Hrithik fans also dreaming of 300 cr. While Akki and his fans dreamin of 60 cr.

  • The partial holiday advantage was nullified by the tough competition in maharashtra by timepass 2 which has created history there n that too the holiday was in maha,gujarat..
At Multiplexes also it had comp. from Avengers..

On the whole the collections seem just decent to me considering not so popular music and low key marketing.

  • The first day collections are good even though i expected it to better . The most important fact is that the movie is entertaining . I saw the movie yesterday and GIB is a good movie . The second half is better then the first half . The dialogues are good some could have been better . People just loved the climax of the movie especially in the scene in which Akshay says ki Aap main se Kaun Hai Gabbar ? I saw the evening show in Aurangabad and it was Housefull . It was good to see a movie after a long time . If masala movies are made they should be made like this . This movie had entertaining action sequences, massy dialogues, good message without being preachy, item song and no melodrama . Everything was limited quantity . Akshay was brilliant in the movie . Sunil Grover was also very good . Expecting a good weekend and entry in the 100 CR Club . I am slightly disappointed that ir could not break Rowdy Rathore . I don’t know what was so special about Rowdy Rathore ? Nevertheless i hope Bollywood will get a successful movie after 2 months .

  • @floppy plz ajay devgn is nowhere near akshay kumar.
yeah agreed ranbir is ahead…but its just a matter of time
ajay’s last few movies were disasters(not even flop)…singham returns did well because of the established sigham brand otherwise it wouldnt have crossed 60 crs

  • Films i managed to see this year

    Baby-4/5
    badlapur-3/5
    Mr X 3D — 2.5/5
    gabbar — 3/5

    50 shades of grey- 2/5
    Avengers:age of ultron-3/5
    Fast n furious7 — 2.5/5
    Birdman — 1/5

    I – 2.5/5

  • Though i don’t understand marathi much,Timepass 2 is record-breaking in our region.
It has surpassed PK,Dhoom3,CE outside Mumbai,Pune n metros.
Glad that regional marathi films doing well inspite of no big regional star in it.
Slap to star-worshipping hindi film industry !

  • Sorry for Akki fans , the 100 crore dream is over !
Weekend will be 40 cr (maximum)
    1st week : 60 cr
    Lifetime : 75 cr
    VERDICT – Below Average

  • Akshay is not a big superstar like khans, RK, HR. Even Ek villian took 18 cr opening in just 1800 screens. He’s competing with stars like sid, arjun, ranveer for a 10 -15 cr opening

  • m leaving………bollywood audience always support media created stars like Ranbir………Now Bomba`y Velvet will open better and Media Created star fans will troll me…………I wont come back………bye bye indicine…………

  • Avengers 2 in its 2nd week has more shows than gobar. Ab gobar ka kuch bhi nahi chalega.. I am joking akki gonna rock in bros

  • Its easy to insult akki but as somebody said if hr and srk does 4 films in a year then result wil b even worse than akki’s

  • Akki’s films ki aise halat dekh ke accha nahi lagta. .. Sid malhotra’s Ek villian did 45crs+ business on opening wekend(Non holiday).. One thing for sure.. BROTHERS opening, wkend & 1st week collection will be through Sid malhotra stardom nt akki’s.. Also Karan malhotra who is coming bck after mega success of Agneepath.

  • People who are saying hro is ahead of akki must give the credit to rakesh roshan its his hard work for his son that paid off!.he become choosy becz of raining flops

  • Akii sir Rocks………Himeshbhai also Rocks…………Media Created Superstars Suck………

  • @Rockstar R.K.
18 cr in 1800 screens? Source bata de beta !! And Mr.X indicneFBO prediction on MrX trailer day was 6.75cr(negative response) and Bombay Velvet IndicineFBO on trailer day was (8cr) . Which is just diff of 2cr inspite of so much hype and talk!
MrX FBO went on decreasing due to poor marketing n songs while BV is increasing day by day due to strong marketing strategy.

    So only promotion matters
