The latest buzz in bollywood is about producer / director Vipul Shah. His last flick Namestey London was not just a huge hit in India but overseas too and its script was acquired by the Academy of Motion Pictures library for the reference of students who study cinema.
On this happy note, Vipul Shah is all set to launch his new venture, titled Singh is Kiing. Akin to his previous releases (Aakhen, waqt, Namastey London), this movie too stars Akshay Kumar in the lead. Katrina Kaif will play the female lead for this movie.
Directed by Anees Bazmi the film will soon go on floors, the first schedule of which will take place on the Gold Coast, Australia. “We are going to take special care to ensure that this is a class product,” commits Vipul.
When asked for more details regarding the movie, Vipul reveals “Akshay has been given a very special look for this movie, a punjabi munda. The pagdi would be the highlight of the look and would have a real diamond.” “The idea is to develop the coolest Sardar that you have seen on screen. So we are developing a funky look for him and the turban is a big element. It’s a designer pagdi, but the real cost is that of the diamond.”
He further adds, “Akshay has this remarkable ability to carry off a variety of looks, because he is essentially good looking and has a very athletic frame. And we’re sure he’ll be able to carry off this look as well.” Interestingly the brief to designer Shabina Khan was that it should look like a crown claiming his status as a King. After all the money being spent on the pagdi, it is certainly befitting a king!
Seems like this film could be one of the biggies and most looked after film for 2008.
