I do not like awards being decided on the likeability of a performer. If Filmfare does not like her or is still upset about what happened at her wedding, these matters are irrelevant! Awards must be given on merit. They did the rightful thing with Hrithik and Ashutosh but one day they will have to answer to God about their unfairness towards Aishwarya….

Her dialogue “Malika-e-alam nahin, sirf ek patni” still reverberates in our hearts, as does her sword fight and her proud demeanor befitting a valiant princess throughout the film.

Aishwarya, don’t mind about Filmfare. Woh toh nadan hai. We all LOVED you as Jodha!! May success become your second name in all your future endeavours.

It was announced here first and I still couldnt believe it although i did breathe a sigh of relief. But still was waiting for some news channel to confirm it. 15 mins later it was shown on Times Now (Filmfare is a part of Times group)… And finally my joy knew no bounds!!!! Hrithik and JA won !!!

Anonymous : I agree with whatever your have said. There was no best actor in a comic role because.. its always been a weird category. Where do you nominate Akshay or SIK? In best actor or Best actor Comic role? Tusshar in Best supporting actor or Best comic actor? Same with Best Villian.. Last year there was quite a lot of debate as to whether Hrithik should have been nominated for Best Villian instead of Best Actor (D2) because John for D1 got the Best Villian……

This year, they did the right thing. Ditched both Villian and Comic.. and merged it with Best Supporting Actor n Actress.

Manjot and Shahana were both supporting roles. How can they give best actor critics to a supporting role? It should have been Naseer, he deserved something.

Secondly, I think the popular awards are right on the money!!
Most people don’t realize but the popular awards is like 50% popularity/audience/fans and 50% judge’s vote.
This is why films like Ghajini and RNBDJ didn’t win anything. Obviously, fans and the audiences are going to remember movies/performances from december better than ones from earlier on in the year. Fans are just biased in this way.

Best Film – Jodhaa Akbar deserved it, right on the money

Best Director – The reason JA was so well made was because of the captain of the ship, Mr. Gowariker

Best Actor – the nominations were pretty good. Aamir was really good in Ghajini, SRK was greeat as surinder and decent as Raj so overall he was good. If SRK was as good as raj as he was surinder, it would have been close. Overall, I think this award was a two man race with Hrithik and Aamir, with Aamir winning more popular and Hrithik winning more judge’s vote. However this award is not even close, Hrithik deserved it, hands down!! I would put Naseer sir second after him! I would probably throw in a nomation for Amitabh Bachchan for Sarkar Raj!

Best Actress – Priyanka was great just beat out Ash for her first best actress award.

Best Supporting Actor: Arjun Rampal delivered his career best performance in Rock-on, and was completely natural. He deserved it completely. Abhishek was excellent in SR, Sonu Sood probably gave his career best in JA, Vinay Pathak was excellent in RNBDJ as well. Tusshar kappor was good, but i think he should have been nominated and possibly won it for best actor in comic role instead. Pratik Babbar was good in his cameo, it was not necessarily a supporting role! I would probably add Anil Kapoor here for Yuvraaj instead of Prateik Babbar just because Prateik’s role was more of a cameo not a supporting role but either way.. im fine!

Best Supporting Actress: All nominations were good here, I would probably add Ash for Sarkar Raj. However, Kangana deserved it for her role in Fashion!!

The critics awards are arguable but still well deserving!! Most people just think Nasser sir deserved, but its aruguable but just watch OLLO, and it is a toss-up. Shahana was excellet in Rock-on, probably should have deserved Supporting Actress but as I mentioned Kangana prob won the popular vote because more people know her rather than Shahana who only had 2 movies under her belt prior to Rock-on.

Best Debut Male: Imraan and Farhan both got it.. check http://bollywoodtrends.blogspot.com/2009/02/filmfare-awards-2009-jodhaa-akbar-wins.html and http://www.india-server.com/news/filmfare-awards-2008-winners-6380.html I don’t know why it says only Farhan won it. They were def the most deserving, although performance wise, I would say Rajeev from AAmir was probably more deserving. However, again this is 50% popularity and 50% jury, so that is why Imraan and Farhaan got it, who both did a fabulous job!

Best Debut Female: Asin I would say deserved it. Some are saying Anuksha was more deserving. I think it was close but Asin got it. Asin had the same role in the tamil ghajini and in the hindi Ghajini, so it was probably a little repetitive for her. However, that doesn’t matter, she was great and she deserved the award thats the bottom line!!!

Now… people like Fathiya and Khan. Let me first say… u two dont know wtf you are talking about.

Khan I think you are just a crazy SRK fan who can’t see anything besides him, or you are a dumb***. You tell me!! SRK got a nominee and that was fair enough. You saying filmfare is not fair, i Think its been pretty fair this year,, atleast as far as the awards I discussed above goes. Hrithik was excellent in JA, from top to bottom, his mannerisms, his expressions, his diction, his overall performance in general. SRK was great as Suri but not quite as good as Raj, he was decent at best as raj… making his overall performance still good but definitely not award worthy. Infact, I would say Aamir was ahead of SRK in best actor category, followed by Naseersir (again he is third because I am taking into consideration that these awards are 50% audience 50% jury)..and so forth!!

Fathiya: you made some good points, I think Shahana did indeed deserve the award. As far as your comments about Srk, i don’t know what in the world you are talking about!! SRK was great in ChakDeINdia, this is probabably by far in his top 5 performance wise, so is his role in Mohabbatein! So you saying RNBDJ was his best performance means you haven’t seen any of his other movies. YOu ought to watch them. SRK definitely din’t deserve the best actor award, he deserved acclaim, which he did get, as he got nominated. but that is as far as it goes.
