Film on 26/11 – Ram Gopal Varma

26/11 is one of the dates which no Indian will ever forget. The three days 24/7 live telecast of the terrorist carnage had people’s eyes glued to the TV sets across the world.

Every one more or less has seen on TV or heard of what happened during that time. But my attempt now would be not only to capture on film the physical aspect but also the behind the scenes aspect of what exactly happened from the time Kasab  and rest of the team landed on Amar Singh Solanki’s trawler in the high seas, till kasab’s heroic capture by the late Tukaram Ombale at Girgaum chowpatty. This will be intercut with what the various gallant police officers did in their attempt to get the situation under control.

I am being assisted by Rommel Rodrigues, author of “Kasab the face of 26/11”, who has an extensive and encyclopedic knowledge of the event but my film is not based on his book.

The film is being made for both the International and Indian audiences. It will have a cast of completely new actors to create a heightened sense of reality.

After my tryst with the so called underworld films I would consider this film as the greatest challenge of my career.

Mailed to us by Ram Gopal Varma

  • These Salman Khan fans are really irritating. What the hell? Bollywood is not all about Salman Khan. I am really looking forward to this film on 26/11. RGV was one of the few who entered Taj after the attacks… remember the incident which made Vilasrao Deshmukh to resign?

This movie will be a good watch.

Indicine, any idea when it will release?
