Actress Alia Bhatt is pretty much everywhere promoting her upcoming film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, which releases in theatres next weekend. While she and her co-star Varun Dhawan have been discussing the film and their characters at length, in a recent media interaction, Alia who is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt said her father would never director a film again.
“My father won’t direct a film again. He has made it very clear. He calls himself an extinct volcano, because he doesn’t want to direct again. But I will work with the production house. When I do work with them, I want it to be because we want to do that film together and not because I am in the family. That would be a wrong reason”
Alia, inspite of her success in recent years, hasn’t worked in a film under the Vishesh Films banner.
The banner’s fall and Alia’s rise has coincided. Their last few films – Raaz Reboot, Love Games, Hamari Adhuri Kahaani, Mr X, Khamoshiyan and City Lights – have all failed and undone the good work done by their biggest hit ‘Aashiqui 2’ in 2013.
Alia made her debut in Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year and is currently one of the top female stars in the industry.
