Ranbir Kapoor’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is the third fastest film to cross the 100 crore mark, after Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger (5 days) and Dabangg 2 (6 days). But the big difference was, both the films had holidays for EID and Christmas, while YJHD had only one weekly holiday (Sunday).
In 7 days (first week), the collections of both Dabangg 2 and YJHD are about the same. Ek Tha Tiger, which had one of the best release dates ever (3-4 holidays), collected 137 crores.
Last years Post-IPL release Rowdy Rathore crossed the 100 crore mark in 11 days.

@saroop Dont be so naive… Sachin has hit a century of centuries and that too in International Cricket. The equivalent in acting terms would be giving 100 hits and Blockbusters equate to Sachins Double Hundreds.
Sadly the truth is Srk comes nowhere close to such High standards but he is comparable to the poor mans Sachin and that is VVS Laxman- consistently good 10 years ago but dried up in last decade before fading away into retirement…! :-P

The Sehwag comparison with Salman is your opinion but it doesnt make any sense. Granted Sehwag has 2 triple hundreds in test cricket which only 3 other men can lay claim to (Bradman, Lara and Gayle) and also the highest ODI score, a smashing Double hundred but apart from that theres no other comparative. If anything Srk can be compared to Sehwag as both in the early noughties were giving huge BO superhits and that comparison I can live with but Sachin being compared with any actor is an insult to the mans records accumulated over 25 long hard years.

Salman also went on to advocate that Pakistan was not to be blamed for the entire happening which drew a lot of criticism and condemnation from our national leading groups, hurting religious sentiments at large. Later Salman quickly retorted with an apology.

Salman fans clearly enjoy brainless, plotless movies with boring females in the lead role, who are okay with not having to do much in the film. His formula for success is not improving his acting or trying to help Hindi cinema evolve. It’s repeatedly remaking mindless South movies that are already hits & behaving like an overgrown child who can’t dance throughout the film. Sonakshi Sinha & Asin are both extremely overrated arm candy and have nothing to do with the success of their 100+ crores films. If these are the standards of Salman Khan fans & if this is the formula for a hit movie then I’d rather watch well made movies that aren’t 100 crore hits but have good stories, good acting, good dancing & amazing performances by the lead actor AND actress.

This goes for all fans of stars but as a cricket lover and seeing Sachin struggle against Australias Mcgrath but still he made a testing/ gruelling hundred to help India- I cannot see people diminishing Sachins stature by making farcical comparisons. In cricket you get no retakes so we know how hard it must have been for the Little Master to shoot 100 International centuries as its never be done before…!
