FAN had a decent first weekend at the box office, collecting Rs 52.35 crore in 3 days. While the weekend numbers are good, the problem for the film is the trend. When the Friday collections are higher than the Sunday total, it an indication that the word-of-mouth for the film is mixed to negative.
For example, Singh Is Bling which released on a big National Holiday (Gandhi Jayanti) last year collected Rs 20.67 crore on its opening day and Rs 19.27 crore on Sunday. The drop from Friday to Sunday was 7%.
FAN, which released on a partial holiday for Ram Navami, collected Rs 19.2 crore on Friday and Rs 17.75 crore on Sunday. The drop, even though it was coming from a half holiday, was around 8%.
While Singh Is Bling had a much better trend than FAN, the film did not sustain in the long run.
These are ominous signs for the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, because while business has come crashing down at mass centres, the growth at multiplexes has been limited.
The fate of FAN is dependent on a strong hold on Monday. It also has to sustain well on Tuesday and the remaining days of its first week.

if today collection come below 8cr then fan will be wrap up under 100cr for sure. despite being a niche movie who didn’t appeal to smaller centers below 100cr is a big disappointing and an clear indication that star power of srk gradually decreasing if these trends continue for next two films then hrithik will be take his place in big three.
It would not have collected even 12cr on Friday if it was not a holiday due to Ram navami!!!

Salman had bad phase between 2000 – 2007 still able to give 2 blockbuster (no entry, partner), few superhit (bb no 1, mpkk) & some critical acclaimed like Tere naam & Garv & few more but it’s his bad phase
Past 10 years srk has CE only a profitable product still he is the most consistent actor
Salman average box office collection through out career is more than Srk still he is inconsistent

First Ranveer Singh (Bajirao Mastani) and now a 10-year old little kid Neel Sethi (The Jungle Book) has finished SRK’s stardom. Sadly, SRK is no more a bankable star. With every film, collections are gown down. FAN’s Box-Office trend is a big disappointment inspite of being a good film.
Kangna’s content rich TWMR collected 150+cr lifetime.
And global king’s content rich Fan is not going to collect even 100cr.

This is really good collection… For the FAN movie.
Films like these are made for sheer novelty and showcasing the acting prowess. They are not made for huge box-office collections. It’s surprising that a certain section of people passionately hate SRK, even though he is the one who popularised Bollywood Cinema to the world. Anyways this film was unique. SRK was at his best. This will always be a special film.
