The box office collections and trends of Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN is similar to Akshay Kumar’s Brothers which released in theatres during the ‘Independence Day’ weekend last year.
Both films took a similar opening (after negating the partial holiday advantage for FAN), similar weekend (Brothers benefitting because of the big national holiday on Saturday) and both will finish with similar lifetime totals – with FAN showing slightly better trends, which would help it to collect about 2-3 crore more than Brothers.
At the end of Week 1 – Brothers had collected Rs 72.52 crore, while FAN has accumulated Rs 71.5 crore.
At the end of 10 days (2nd weekend) – Brothers had collected Rs 78.62 crore, while FAN has edged ahead with Rs 79.25 crore net box office collections.
As far as the business economics of the two films are concerned, FAN is the more expensive film. At the overseas box office, the SRK starrer has performed better.

Brothers got extremely negative reviews whilst fan positive. So now those people will understand what happens when you don’t get festival release and only less gap in movies..this is why never doubt akshay kumars stardom ,he is equally big to any other star.
Fan should be declared as Disaster coz budget is nearly 110cr and lifetime is less than talaash, if this haklutards called talaash a flop despite knowing facts that it was made on a very less budget and has limited appeal among audience then what’s wrong in calling Usha Fan a Disaster????
So SRK is now officially in 80 cr of Akki…hahaha

@Neeraj, Raees is 99.99% not releasing during Eid. The delay in announcing a new date is because they are not getting a suitable release date. Eid was perfect for a film like Raees, but after FAN, you can’t take on Salman’s Sultan.
Ram leela,Bajirao,Ce,Hny are hits due to golden time of deepika.its nt ranveer defeats srk.it is deepika who beats Srk.but heroines have a limited yr popularity.
So now SRK is 80 cr club star as akshay has move ahead with airlift nd Even housefull 3 will also a bigger success then even dilwale. Good time!

Also partial holidays like Ram navmi , mahavir Jayanti and Hanuman Jayanti helped fan to balanced it out with independence day holiday which brothers got..!!!

People might have thinking why there is no manipulation in dilwale n fan.because in case of hny the collection is 37 cr but they show 44.97.Which is a fake record .and this manipulation gets advantage news and hny n Ce both cross 150 cr.but here the collection is 19,20 cr.so they have to manipulate about 27 cr in a day to get fake records,which may break all time manipulation record.so they didn’t do manipulation here.
srk can’t get enough screen for raees on eid because after failure of raees every distributor and theater wanna make profit atleast they aren’t in business to say we take raees because it wasn’t for box office.
I feel bad for srk, i think he is a very good human being, and in my opinion such people don’t deserve failure.

Both Brothers and Fan are massive failures for Akshay and SRK respectively . Brothers was easily the Biggest movie of Akshay in 2015 and the trailer generated good buzz but when the movie released it was a huge disappointment . Fan was SRK’s return to Non Holiday after 6 years and the result is absolutely same . Brothers was the Remake of Hollywood movie Warrior which was also a Box Office Failure but has gained Cult Status over the years . It also finds a place in IMDB Top 250 . I have not seen Brothers so I cannot say personally whether Brothers was good or bad . Brothers was based on Sports MMA Genre . Fan was mediocre and I can say this because I have seen Fan . Fan was a Thriller and displayed the obsession of a Fan . Both the movies had the potential to do 100 CR+ as both had bankable Stars, Top Production houses and interesting concepts and both of them failed badly .
There can’t be a bigger insult for a fan than the movie Fan.. It was so shameful being the biggest fan of the so-called Dinuya Ka Sabse Bada superstar.. that the fan committed suicide at the end – thinking that he wasted his entire life being fan of a coward instead of Aamir or Salman.
Superstar was reduced to a clown dancing at a mela..
That movie will forever be remembered as the most shameful tribute to fans. Fittingly he lost a lot of fans with that movie too.

Srk fans You guys are saying about clash & expecting Salman to leave eid for Srk can you give me the reason why, srk was the one who tried his best to scare SLB by dilwale to quit Xmas, he made the statement even if 4 more movies would have been their including BM, his movie is all set to face the clash than why he is not making such statements when Salman is their for eid battle.
When srk had no mercy for SLB’s Magnum opus dream project with youngster than why bhai should have, srk is not a youngster; duniya ki sabse bada superstar why is pissing when our Indian megastar is in the ring.
