‘Entertainment’ has managed to survive the onslaught of a big film like ‘Singham Returns’ to collect around around 9 crore in its second weekend at the box office. The 10-day collections of the film is Rs 65.3 crore, which is much lower than the weekend total of ‘Singham Returns’.
The damage was done in the first week itself when the film failed to put up a big enough total. The multiplex audience simply did not come out in big enough numbers, probably due to the fact that Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ released just a couple of weeks ago and ‘Singham Returns’ was supposed to release a week after.
Akshay has one more release to go this year and even that film doesn’t have the best of release dates. ‘The Shaukeens’ is tentatively scheduled to release on November 7th 2014, two weeks after Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ and on the same day as Ajay Devgn’s ‘Action Jackson’.
Unless Akshay starrers start getting bigger initials at multiplexes, his films would rely on word-of-mouth publicity to recover costs like ‘Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty’.
In short, ‘Entertainment’ was a film that deserved better at the box office. Unfortunately, it would end its run as an average grosser at best.

I have heard that Akki has just 10 min. role in “The Shaukeens”…he is’nt the lead actor in that film…
The Shaukeens will be promoted like OMG: Oh My God was.. It is a small role, but Akshay is in the film to bring in the audience. His character will also be longer than Mithun’s in the original.

HNy trailer was a huge failure. Inspite of huge fake buzz created by Srk and his fans on twitter the 3 mins Trailer was a huge flop.
The trailer was rejected everywhere, it was released on more than 3 channels yet the combined views of the 3 were less than 2 million.

Based on response to trailer and verdicts of TMK and players, HNY will be a sure flop.
Akshay is back on track. 60 to 70cr is the range of Akki.

It is a sad affair for Akshay kumar. ajay Devgn were far behind to him in stardom. But now akshay movie’s life time is less than ajay’s first weekend collection. Excessive greed for money, choosing wrong script again and again make him, that he is today. Feeling sad for him.
Akki is satisfied with average verdict coz he also knows that it is ideal result for his films, after all he is doing 4 films per year.

Holiday was another film which deserved better opening and overall collections but Akshay’s previous films along with poor music had negative impact on it.
The Shaukeens will be WOM film, it will depend on Akshay to open decently and content to remain steady like OMG! I expect it to be a good film as the original Shaukeen was also good.
Gabbar and Warrior can take big opening and emerge as blockbusters if everything goes well.

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Happy New Year that is due for a Diwali release in October is already making waves in the social media.
Happy New Year’s trailer that was unveiled on YouTube on August 14, on the eve of Independence Day has nearly got 1.8 million views already.
The trailer was also shared on Happy New Year’s official Facebook page and has got more than 2.5 million ‘likes’ and over 60,000 ‘shares’.
