Very few films have taken a bumper opening at the box office this year. Abbas Mustan’s Race 2 started well, but the response wasn’t extra ordinary for a holiday release. Only two medium budget films – Prabhu Deva’s Anybody Can Dance and David Dhawan’s Chashme Baddoor – got a better response than what was expected out of them.
To add to the woes, a big-budget film like Himmatwala sank without a trace after a decent initial, collecting just 45 crores in it’s entire run.
However, the next few months have quite a few keenly-awaited films lined up for release, starting with Emraan Hashmi’s super natural thriller Ek Thi Daayan.
Recently, there were murmurs within the industry that Ekta hasn’t gone all out to promote the film because of creative differences with co-producer Vishal Bhardwaj. According to a source close to the film, Ekta wasn’t too impressed with certain portions and asked the crew to re-shoot a few scenes.
But given the film’s genre (horror) and Hashmi’s fan-following at B and C centres, Ek Thi Daayan should open well on Friday. The opening day collections is likely be around 7-8 crores net. The weekend numbers would then depend on content and word-of-mouth.
Note: Ek Thi Daayan won’t be screened at single screens in Mumbai due to the ongoing dispute with UTV Motion Pictures who booked screens for Chennai Express with Himmatwala.

akshay also will become enemy to srk.what is the use of money ,if he has no friends.

don’t know why people are blaming srk for booking single screens for his movie. srk isn’t the producer, he is just an actor of the movie. and if srk should be blamed, then ajay should be blamed too. because when SOS and JTHJ clashed he went for seeking justice. but when the same thing happening using his movie Himmathwala, he doesn’t even make a noise.
Last year yrf booked screens for jthj as package with ett(srk used salman to get screens). Now it had become trend. Now utv used hommatwala to book screen for CE. It was a package that ‘if anyone want to run himmatwala on ss they would also devote 14 days 4 shows to ce’. Now srk used ajay.
So if clash happens, there will be no single screens for ouatim2 in big centres for 14 days. So i will not take 1st day collection. I know lifetime collection of ouatim2 will be higher than ce. And i’m expecting and hoping that ekta also book multiplexes screens for ouatim2 with SAW.
When i heared the news i was completely disappointed by utv bcoz akshay had given them there biggest hot (rr) but what are they doing with akshay sir??? But dont worry akhay fanz, Wait for Eid…. Akshay is coming to kick srk’s candy ass……

because that happened just 2 times in the 100 year history of bollywood & both time its incase of Srk films.
Here high voltage clash like Gadar vs Lagaan happened but no one used such tactics.
People are saying that Srk lost his stardum & his films are not working well on BO but now he unables to book screens for his films on his own power.
If Balaji want then they had booked screens before CE & same with SOS but no one want play unfair except Srk.

srk was all over magazines n got various awards only due to his PR. A common man in India will never believe in srk capability as much as Aamir n Salman. So wake up srkians unless its too late. Srk is such a person who clashes with a certain actor, gets ss booked with using stardom of a star whom srk does not see eye to eye n now he uses that certain actor (whom he had clash on diwali) to book his upcoming movie as a producer. So where is power of so called Badshaah, king khan or any morals or ethics. So it clearly shows how greedy this man is. I bet in future he will use Shirish Kunder too if he sees his business benefits not humanity.
