Upset that the trailers of his upcoming film Ek Tha Tiger has been banned in Pakistan, director Kabir Khan has declared that the film is not anti-Pakistani and reassured fans that it will release in the neighboring country on August 15th.
“I will say it once more… Ek Tha Tiger is NOT anti Pakistan.. In this day and age, it’s stupid to make films that are insensitive or derogatory to any country or community” said Khan on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The director blamed some of the films in the past, for showing Pakistan in bad light ”This is the price we have to pay because unfortunately our industry has made insensitive and jingoistic films in the past” he wrote.
Khan also assured fans that the film will release in Pakistan “I am absolutely sure that once the censor board of Pakistan sees ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, they will be more than happy to show the film in Pakistan. I can assure the millions of fans of Salman in Pakistan that ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ will release in theatres in their country.” he added.
A couple of days ago, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, directed cable operators and satellite TV channels to refrain from airing trailers and reviews of Ek Tha Tiger till a no-objection certificate was issued by the Central Board of Film Censors of Pakistan.
Starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Ek Tha Tiger is produced by Yashraj Films.
Screw you Kabir Khan. I am not watching your film myself. Just for the sake of a few crores, your supporting a country that has been instrumental in killing thousands of innocent people in India?
Why are you blaming our filmmakers for rightly showing the country in bad light?
