Drishyam Box Office Opening

Drishyam has taken a slow start at the box office on Friday, which was expected because of the genre of the film and the low-key promotional strategy. However, irrespective of the genre and other factors, a film starring Ajay Devgn in the lead should have taken a bigger opening at the box office on Day 1.

The opening is in the 15% range, but should grow towards the end of the day as reports, coming in from theatres after the morning show, are excellent.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan was rock-steady on its 3rd Friday and has retained plenty of shows at multiplexes, even though a film like Drishyam has released in theatres. In fact, at several multiplexes, both Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Drishyam have an equal number of shows.

It remains to be seen if Bajrangi Bhaijaan can surpass the collections of Drishyam on its 15th day, but a few exhibitors have informed us that Drishyam had a slight lead in the morning
