Shahrukh Khan’s much awaited Don 2 releases this Christmas and the action-thriller just got bigger and better!
Ritesh Sidhwani the co-producer of Don 2 has just announced that the film will be released in both 2D and 3D formats.
Talking about Don 2 in 3D, Sidhwani said “There is huge demand for the brand DON, also our audiences must be expecting much more and beyond just cinema from the sequel so hence a 3D format. We did a few 3D conversion tests on DON 1 (2006) and the conversion outcome was very very good.. So while shooting for Don 2, the 3D conversion was at the back of Farhan’s (Akhtar) mind while shooting the film incase we decided to go ahead with 3D format as it would make the Don experience even more memorable and exciting to watch for the audience. I was in LA (Los Angeles) recently and saw some 3D conversion tests and was blown by it.. So decided to go ahead and convert Don2 into a 3D format”
There is a huge market for 3D films in India with the 3D versions of films like Avatar and Harry Potter recording huge business. Even the limited budget Haunted 3D directed by Vikram Bhatt was a HIT because its 3D version did super business.
Shahrukh Khan’s other release this year Ra One will also be released in 3D.
Don 2 directed by Farhan Akhtar will release during the Christmas holiday weekend. The film starring Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta also has a special appearance by Hrithik Roshan. Don 2 will also be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu.
