Ajay Devgn has announced yet another film for Diwali and this time around it will be his ambitious directorial venture ‘Shivaay’, which is scheduled to release during Diwali 2016.
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions had announced ‘Shhuddhi’ for Diwali, but the Karan Malhotra film that was supposed to feature Salman Khan in the lead, has now become a Varun Dhawan – Alia Bhatt starrer.

Apart from Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgn is the only actor in the last 4 years, who has managed to release his film during the Khan-dominated festive weekends of Eid, Diwali and Christmas.

Salman could release another film on Diwali 2016 instead of Shuddhi – he won’t let a holiday release go like that. Also Diwali 2017 falls on Sunday like Krrish 3 so not the best release date for a film like SOS 2 which requires a big opening.
Not interested in shuddhi film.. Shuddhi will be big flop due to varun alia.. It can loss-making on the lines of Bombay velvet..

no doubt ajay devgn is a great actor and a superstar but my humble request to him is to stop acting in films like aj,sos,himmatwala etc
as i said before SRK’s ‘FAN’ has been completed & yet to announce release date, even they are yet to announce the music composer but insecure actors like Ajay, Aamir & Salman book festivals 2,3 years before.. even SRK announced EID for CE few weeks before unlike his so called competitors.. in simple words insecures stars are always hurry to book festivals.. Ajay is the recent example.. He is extremely jealous from SRK specially after CE as it broke every record after doing just one movie with Rohit Shetty while ajay failed countless times.. also JTHJ clash is the reason behind this that he is booking Dilwali as he is afraid that SRK will announce it….
He is not going to get any of these two slots, even if he manages to it will be a clash with some other bigbudget/starer movie and thereafter result will be disaster..

Only insecure people like Ajay, Salman and Aamir can book festivals many years before the release even it doesn’t matter for them if the movies will complete or not but they want to show their insecurity against SRK by booking Dilwali.. wo kehte hai na jaisa tum honge waisa tere dost.. iss liye Ajay, Salman, aamir mein dosti hai as all of them are the most insecure actors ever Indian Cinema has seen..

Ajay devgn is better than akki and srk so he can utilise the festival time releases properly and he deserves it! But i dnt think its final there wil b change just like all were expecting shuddi to b diwali 2016 release
I don’t understand why actors like Ajay and Salman book EID/Diwali/Xmas when they can’t break life time or opening even salman coming on EID from last so many years but failed countless times to give 40cr opening or break life while SRK gave 45 cr + on Dull date like Diwali and break every record on EID just by one movie with original script and by one time unlike Bhojpuri Bhai who comes every EID with Huge famous and blockbuster remake still failed.. these actors like Salman should be banned from releasing craps, remakes on Big festival like EID/X’mas.

@Jay you are right. srk is too much insecured. he stills aamir’s christmas when he doesn’t have release. he also stole salman’s eid in 2013 when salman had no release. his real stardom should be tested only if he release his movie on non holiday like mid november or pre IPL period or October. then only we can see his real stardom. because we all know without festivals his MNIK was a semi hit and could’t cross 75 cr.
Hahaha let’s see how many screen will get Ajay movie by the time of release. He should not cry if he get less screen because it is depend upon exibitors which movie they want to release.
Diwali holidays proved very profitable for filmmakers and stars… Srk is a live example… From ddlj to jthj he had given almost 10 biggest hits of his career with diwali… And only one with eid… While salman made eid period golden from wanted…. So diwali brings light and bright in Bollywood

This is the Best article posted by you @ Indicine in a long time . Since the last 6 or 7 years Festival days have become the most important factors for doing record breaking . This list proves that Hrithik and Ajay has the least amount of Holiday releases in the last 4 years . While Akshay did not had any festival release . I think it is a great idea to release Shivaay in Diwali 2016 because it is a expensive movie and everybody has a right to release their movies on Holidays . Whether these movies will be a solo release or a with a clash that cannot be predicted . Now i also want Akshay to release a movie on a Holiday probably in 2017 as 2016 looks full to me . I also want Khans to release their movies on Non Holidays . Holiday plays a huge role in collections . I think Fan will be released on a Non Holiday and it should release on a Non Holiday because it has been 5 years since SRK had a non holiday release .
