Dishoom vs Badrinath Ki Dulhania: Box Office Comparion

Varun Dhawan’s last film ‘Dishoom’ opened well at the box office, even though the trailer of the film did not quite get the kind of response that ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ did.

While Dishoom ended up with lifetime business of 70 crore, Badrinath Ki Dulhania (BKD) has taken a better opening and the trend over the weekend was probably better too as the Sunday collections of BKD was affected by holi.

On Monday, BKD is expected to be way ahead due to holiday for Holi. But it’ll be interesting to see how the Tuesday and 2nd weekend collections compare.

  • Yesterday I watched BKD and I really liked the film.

First of all I was expecting it as an a avg /Abv avg …and my prediction before release was 82cr..

But now I am almost sure that it will earn 100cr in India…and I am saying again its a good entertaining film .

  • To some idiots chanting bad about BKD
Its target audience is young students(college goers) and they are busy with exam. Still BKD is ruling hearts. Also Kong skull island is clashing!!!!!

  • The opening weekend biz of BADRINATH KI DULHANIA clearly indicates that our audience loves desi entertainers. This Varun-Alia starrer is seeped in the Indian ethos… the emotions integrated in the screenplay are perfect to draw family audiences in hordes. Sure, a minuscule segment of the movie-going audience [in metros specifically] may be open to experimental films with western influences, but the majority of Indian moviegoers love, adore and relish well-told desi entertainers. It’s time our makers and Studios woke up to this fact. Let’s not forget, aakhir dil hain Hindustani. –
