Like we mentioned in the update at 7PM in the evening (read), Dilwale has shown a drop of around 50% from Friday. Estimates suggest, the Shah Rukh Khan film has collected around Rs 10 – 11 crore on Monday.
While the drop is a little higher than expected, more so when compared to the other film that has held very strong, most big films show similar drops. Salman Khan’s Kick last year collected Rs 26.52 crore on Friday and Rs 14.41 crore on Monday – the percentage of drop was 46%. Happy New Year also had a similar 52% drop on Monday from its first non-holiday (Saturday).
In short, neither has Dilwale held strongly on its first weekday, nor has it crashed at the box office. The film now has a challenging task of not only remaining steady over the weekdays, but also fighting off competition from Bajirao Mastani.
Which bring us to the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. The hold is phenomenal, Bajirao Mastani has passed the Monday test with flying colours. Two things are certain now; one, Bajirao Mastani will cross the 100 crore mark in the domestic market and two, the film will recover its costs as the overseas business is very good too.
This, in itself, is a big win for the Bajirao Mastani team, because not many in the trade gave the film a chance prior to release.
Early estimates suggest, Bajirao Mastani has also collected somewhere in the 10 crore region. The film has crossed the 50 crore mark in 4 days, taking the total to somewhere around the 56 crore mark.
Check out the table below, it’s a day wise comparison between the two films. The fourth column is the day-wise difference, if Dilwale is ahead it will be highlighted in red and if Bajirao Mastani is leading, it will be highlighted in blue.
The story so far – the weekend belonged to Dilwale, it remains to be seen which film will hold better during the weekdays. Currently, it’s advantage Bajirao Mastani. The trend is outstanding and an excellent trend is always better than an excellent opening.

(half of Dilwale ), so Both Dilwale , BM are ‘almost’ performing equal in India from monday now, but Dilwale is performing brilliantly in overseas and worldwide, way ahead than Bajirao Mastani.. So don’t compare BM with Dilwale.. Dilwale was winner from first day till now, was winner even before its release…. BM ko chahiye kitna bhi kyu support na karo phir bhi ” Worldide gross” aur ” overseas mein mein toh ”bahut hi zyada” peeche rahegi..
PRDP- 1st Monday- 11 cr ( solo, 5000+ screens), Dilwale – 10 cr in India (clash, 2800 screens), Salman fans shouldn’t even talk about Dilwale… and leave overseas wo bhojpuritards ke liye nahi..
and despite less screens & less shows, + big clash + protest + SRK’s statement negativity in India, with so many disadvtanges Dilwale’s monday’s collection is decent..yeah not the best but still good i think by looking at to many disadvtanges!!!!

Finally.. safe to say. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has his revenge. He must have been waiting for 7 years, since the very day Saawariya released in bombed..
Everyone wrote him off, mocked at him.. but the man is standing tall today and making one of the biggest superstar look small in front of him.
Deepika was on the winning side in 2007, she is in the winning side this time too. She is the lucky charm .
SRK has finally been defeated. Unless they inflate.. BM will collect more in its lifetime than Dilwale. Mark this comment :)
Dilwale’s overseas figs will compete with Indian figs. Ironically the only mainstream film to be more successful in overseas so far is MNIK..

okay I watched #BajiraoMastani ! SLBs #BajiraoMastani is a satisfactory film wid terrific performances,beautiful cinematography,well-written dialogues and grand set design !
positives: Bhanshalified parts(choreography,production design,acting,cinematography,dialogues etc)
negatives: again the Bhanshalified parts: the visually beautiful ,but unconvincing climax. malhar song was unnecessary.
bhanshali is a gem in his own zone! but sometimes his vision make some sequences unconvincing. the climax was visually beautiful , but unconvincing! It may make u wonder if bajirao really did it!
The malhar video was really laughable. u cannot make a peshwa dance like a typical film hero
But i must admit that over all it is a good film. A lot of sequences I have loved. the three characters are lovely.
Deepika was brilliant as the bold and beautiful Mastani. PC despite her short role makes u feel for her.
But ultimately the film belongs to Ranveer Singh who is simply extraordinary as Bajirao Ballar.His swagger, action, romance and rebellions attitude

Dilwale has to avoid those 12-15 pc daily drops big films generally suffer if it has to have any chance of making use of the big holidays season. If it drops below 6.5 crore levels by thursday, writing will be on the wall. On the other hand BM really looks in a happy space now. Totally deserved the appreciation.

Awesome movie .. Awesome acting ,awesome story , awesome screenplay and awesome cinematography .Bajiro Mastani is far better than Delwale (my personal view) dilwale is only one positive thing that is good acting by srk and Kajol that’s it (my personal view not hurt any of fan of dilwale ). Bajirao ne Mastani se mahoobaat ki aaieyasi nahi .. Beautiful dialog.

@Muscat, can’t reveal anything publicly. But yes, we do work hard to bring you all the updates. Happy that every single early estimate has been accurate for both Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale. Even when no other site has published estimates.
It’s difficult to get these estimates right, because we only get figures from 20-30 centres from different circuits in the night. Some people in the trade provide us circuit estimates, which makes things easier. First day it’s very difficult, more so when there is uncertainty about release size, disruptions, clashes etc.
Since thousands of people stay awake to read, it’s worth the effort.
The more you talk against SRK, the more my love and respect for him increases!!

All the srkians, this is the time to show your power. Haters are trying their best to degrade dilwale and srk by boycotting the screening of dilwale and spreading negativity on social media. If you haven’t watched dilwale in theatres yet, watch it soon and if you already have, watch it again for at least once during the weekdays. Srk has the largest fanbase and if 10% of his fans watch it in theatre this week, it will hold well which will ensure an excellent first week and more screens in the next week.
Dilwale has created a Weekend record in Pakistan shattering previous Weekend record Dhoom 3 for Hindi film in Pakistan.. Overall film has registered 3rd biggest Weekend ever as collections went around 6.4cr approx..
Film saw around 675 shows over the Weekend and ran with over 90% occupancies which is phenomenal considering non-Holiday period and clash from Bajirao Mastani.. Film fell short by more than 1 crore from Furious 7 and Jawani Phir Nahi both were solo releases whereas Jawani Phir Nahi came alongside Eid..

BM also got benefit from the protests and fear as once a person or persons are out for movie he will watch smthng.. N if stopped for Dilwale then BM is another option thanks to reviews by critics though I dont will any authenticity in them. BM doesn’t deserve anything above 3.25 stars. Specially because of the pace of the movie. And those dialogues yaar kiski gardan pe sar rkhe ye btado hume.. Mtlb dialoguebaazi. Not a masterpiece but still a good one time watch.. I am a fan of SRK but I haven’t watched Devdas more than twice since its release but have watched Kal Ho Na Ho and Swades and CDI MNIK DDLJ KKHH etc n times. Even watched Lootera and Ricky Behl many times. So m nt being biased here. I just got my Dil connected with DILWALE whereas as brain with BajiraoMastani. And I prefer Heart .
Srk disappoint me again by his movie dilwale .. It is better than happy new year but worst than chennie express . His last movie I liked was don2 .
