Dilip Kumar suffers heart-attack, admitted to ICU

Dilip KumarLegendary actor Dilip Kumar, 90, was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday after he complained of uneasiness in his chest. Sources in the hospital say, the actor suffered a minor heart attack after which he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. His condition is stable.

However, considering his age, the next couple of days will be crucial, said the doctors who were attending the veteran actor.

Born as Muhammad Yusuf Khan on December 11th 1922, in Peshawar (now Pakistan), Dilip Kumar has acted in more than 65 films over a career spanning 6 decades. He was the first to receive the Filmfare Best Actor award way back in 1954.

With 8 Best Actor awards, Kumar, who is widely considered to be one of the best actors in the industry, tops the list along with Shah Rukh Khan for the most number of Filmfare awards. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1991 and Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 for his outstanding contribution to the industry and Indian Cinema.
