Dhoom 3 has become the first Hindi film to collect Rs 100 crore in its first weekend at the box office, beating the previous record held by Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express. The Hindi version of the film has collected 36.09 crore on Sunday and the regional versions added around 1.94 crore, taking the All-India business to a mind-boggling Rs 39-40 crore in India.

Dhoom 3 has also become the only film in box office history to collect Rs 30 crore or more on each day of its first 3-day weekend.
Sky is now the limit for the Aamir Khan film – it could be the first film to collect Rs 300 crore in India, gross 500 crore worldwide and also set circuit records in India and overseas.

Dhoom 3 has shattered all previous box office records to record a 95 crore nett approx weekend. The previous record holder Chennai express had grossed 87 crore nett over three days and 93.50 crore nett if paid previews are included. Dhoom 3 has grossed a further 7 crore nett approx in Tamil and Telugu which takes the all language figure to 102 crore. Every circuit in India with exception of Nizam/ Andhra and Tamil Nadu/Kerala has seen records fall. These two circuits are short of Chennai Express with the Hindi versions but had regional versions also playing. Mumbai and Mysore had collections in the same range as Chennai Express. It is mainly South India where the weekend records have not come but the first week records should come in South. East Punjab has emerged the out performer beating the previous weekend record by 35-40% and this is despite the fog. Bihar has seen previous weekend record beaten by 30%. The first day and Sunday and Dhoom 3 (Hindi) are now the highest single days in history while collections on Saturday were the sixth highest of all time.

Dhoom 3 Crosses 200 CRORE Worldwide In Three Days

Dhoom 3 has set a new benchmark as it has crossed the 200 crore mark for weekend collections worldwide. It is the first film to cross the enviable 200 crore mark. Chennai Express had grossed 160 crore approx in its first three days. The gross collections in India are around 130 crore and Sunday figures for some markets in overseas are not available yet it is sure to be over 70 crore and could even go over 75 crore. The total should come in the range of $12 million. The out performance in overseas is even bigger than in India. The India collections are just 9-10% bigger than Chennai Express but overseas collections are 60-65% higher with the film seeing records smashed by huge margins wherever released. To have box office receipts of 200 crore plus across the world is just extraordinary. The feat is difficult to explain in words but the fact that Dabangg 2 which released exactly one year ago was the first film to hit 100 crore wordwide tells the story as Dhoom 3 has doubled that figure in just 12 months and that too with a holiday in the domestic market. It took Youtube King Thakur of Chennai 4 long boring years, 4 crappy consecutive films, 4 consecutive festive weekend releases to finally reach and surpass 3 idiots record…! Bravo we all thought and all Lungiwalas were rejoicing and bought new lungis to celebrate SrkIndicineIndependence Day but their depressing festivities were short lived…. Just 4 months later an actor with considerably less than the 3.4 billion fanbase of Youtube King came, saw and conquered all records….!
Dhoom 3 is exactly like ‘Now You See Me’ and ‘Catch Me If You Can’- You see Aamir taking back his records but you cant catch him anytime soon my lungi wearing Youtube King and fellow lungiwala fans…! The difference between BOI and Producer collections are 14-15 cr now…after the end of 10 days of its run it will definitely 50-60 Cr difference. Each day we can witness 4-5 cr difference in collections. The difference between BOI (179) and Producer collections(inclusive regional 245) were 66 cr , and they called it manipulated. Now wht about Dhoom 3 15 cr difference in 3 days…
The most interesting thing is BOI is now reporting regional collections of Dhoom 3 including its hindi version. They did not do the same for Krish 3. BOI is getting bad to worst. This site is definitely biased.
