On Sunday, it looked like Sultan would match or even beat the collections of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK, but now with the film running in its ‘Post-Eid’ weekdays, it’s looking more likely the Ali Abbas Zafar directed film will finish closer to the lifetime business of Dhoom 3.
At the end of the first week, Sultan is exactly 20 crore ahead of Dhoom 3 at the same stage – but had two open weeks and a couple of additional holidays, while Sultan will be up against Great Grand Masti in its second week itself.
The average ticket price of Sultan is higher than Dhoom 3 and the Salman Khan starrer also got a wider release.

at indicine dont u think the first day business of sultan was around 40 crores.. and yrf is showing less figures as some percentage of profit will go in salman khan’s pocket.. even all the websites were quoting the figure of ist day estimate around 40 crores…
Not to worry sultan day 8-11cr day 9-10cr day-10 may be 7cr because of less screen and day 11-11cr day 12-13.5cr that’s my prediction let’s see what happen and movie doing great business at overseas I saw booking status in USA and UK that’s why I can tell that

Sultan could make it to the top 3 of the highest grossing movies of all time and could collect 300 cr but having said that all, i dont see it even could close PK and BB collwctions because of too much competition from other films this summer.
As far as PK and BB collection’s are concerned, I see only Dangal has the chance to beat that record if only content clicks but anything is possible this Xmas coz MR Perfectionist is coming back after nearly 2 years.
That means 1st weekend collection is still belongs to D3.
