Dhoom 3 has collected Rs 36.22 crore on its opening day at the box office, according to the film’s producer – distributor Yash Raj Films. The film opened to a phenomenal response both at multiplex chains across the country as well as single screens.
If the advance booking for the film is anything to go by, Dhoom 3 (all versions) might just cross the 40 crore mark on Sunday.
Even though exhibitors are over-the-moon with the kind response that the film has got, most believe that the first day business would have been higher if the film’s runtime (which is close to 3 hours) was shorter. However, the advance booking for the entire weekend is fantastic, which should help the film get close to the 100 crore mark in its first weekend!
If the film sustains well on Saturday, Dhoom 3 is well on track to be the fastest film into the 100 crore club, beating the current record of Chennai Express which collected 100 crore in 3 days + paid previews on Thursday.

Writing this comment just after coming from theater, what a performance Aamir did in this movie. Really, one finest actor in the planet. No any other actors can do this role. Respect you Aamir, you deserve to cross 300 cr. for this movie.

i have just watch the movie. this movie is a rubbish.dhoom$dhoom2 were much better than this one.hrithik & john gave much thrilling performance on their sequel. aamir is just not fit for the dhoom role. i think srk was a good option for yrf . i have just waste my money&time.

just came to know about D3 overseas collection, komal nahta tweeted overseas first day is 20.2cr so combine total is 36.22+20.2=56.42cr officials and as per boi Hindi version are 30.9+20.2=51.1cr outstanding on a non-holiday.

This movie will definitely cross 280 Cr… looking at the opening it got and the fact that it has 3 open weeks. One of the more interesting point is that i was waiting for the collections of this movie just to check the difference between BOI & other trade portals…Now BOI claims the movie has just crossed 30.60 cr on opening day whereas producer state it collected 36.22 cr a wide difference of 6 crs..This just proves that BOI is a outdated website and gives false collections..Is there any body still in the planet who believes that BOI gives accurate collections. Thus at the end of year the top grossing movies of the year are:
