Delhi Belly Runtime – No Interval

Delhi Belly releases today and we have just received confirmation that the film will have no interval and the run time will be just 96 minutes.

Half-time intermissions or intervals don’t exist in most countries (like US, UK), as most films that release there are usually less than 2 hours long. Here in India, back in the 70s and 80s most films used to be in excess of 3 hours, hence the need for intervals.

With the run time of Hindi movies too reducing with each film, is there really a need for intervals? What do you think?

  • I dont think a interval is needed 4 a film that is below 2 hrs…some hollywood blockbusters had no intervals like pirates of the caribbean 4,harry potter 7 even though they r beyond 2 hrs. I think interval breaks the mood and tempo of the film…
