  • @Neeraj Karayat I wholeheartedly agree! Deepika even gave the best performance in the film.
No one can deny the fact that HNY and CE were big grossers in a large part due to Deepika’s presence.
Dilwale failed to cross even 150 crore, falling 50-80 crore short of CE and HNY. Why so? The reason is due to lack of Deepika’s presence and clash with BM (which starred Deepika)! If Dilwale had DP in lead, it could have earned at least 190 crore despite of the clash.
Deepika’s BM (188 crore) and YJHD (178 crore) have collected significantly higher than any SRK film.

I can’t comment on overseas, but in India Deepika arguably has a bigger pull than SRK.
I know that a lot of people may ask “Why are Deepika’s other smaller films like Piku and Cocktail not as successful?”. The answer is simple, they are ‘smaller’ films, they are not highly promoted or big budget like SRK’s films. Yet they are successful.

Let SRK do a small film like Piku (very low budget, low promotion) then see the corresponding box office collection. I am sure it won’t earn as much as Piku or Cocktail. This year he did a big budget and highly promoted film like FAN, and the result was a failure.

  • Tacky, looks like a cover from the 90s… What’s wrong with our photographers, current generation actresses never look beautiful on magazine covers except kareena n priyanka, choice of clothes for every other actress is mediocre…

  • @William Are u nuts?? ???
Where are u from…Amerikkkaa or laandan.deepika has a bigger pull than shahrukh..i mean seriously…u are even justifying it wid reasons.
What movie collects is solely because of how well it is made…yes lifetime depends on the that….yjhd n bm were positive wom films…what a superstar can do is emsure a solid opening which is comparable ony to salman…n bm..seriously?? It was a bigger film but what was its opening when it collided wid dilwale….despite the intolerance negativity sorrounding him.
