Deepika Padukone has slammed India’s leading news daily Times of India (TOI) for their article on the outfit that she wore at a recent event.
Attaching a screenshot of her cleavage revealing outfit from TOI Entertainment’s official Twitter handle, Deepika tweeted “Supposedly India’s ‘LEADING’ newspaper and this is ‘NEWS’!!??”
“YES!I am a Woman.I have breasts AND a cleavage! You got a problem!!??”
“Don’t talk about Woman’s Empowerment when YOU don’t know how to RESPECT Women!” she said in a series of tweets that followed.
Minutes after she sent out her tweets, the industry and several leading journalist joined-in, asking the media to be more responsible.

- “we just slam ourselves back into the dark ages! Reputed channels inciting regressive shit. What are they thinking?! Sad!” tweeted the director of Finding Fanny.

- “Respect, Deepika Padukone, for taking on this bullshit. More power to you.” Ranvir Shorey

After the uproar that followed Deepika’s tweets, the official Twitter handle of TOI Entertainment deleted the tweet of her cleavage, but followed it up with a shockingly disgusting reply. Their tweet read “@deepikapadukone , It’s a compliment! You look so great that we want to make sure everyone knew! :)”

Having said that, this is not the first time that media reported about the ckeavage shows by the actresses. So, the actresses must also carefully choose their dresses. When there is something revealing, they will certainly take pictures.
Well, I also doubt that it may be a publicity stunt to create hypes around her fourth coming movie.
Why should she make the matter a mountain out of a molehill when her Kingfisher’s Calendar pictures are more revealing than this? Just my opinion!

Yellow journalism at its best (or worst)? Is that how our ‘modern’ journos get their promotions and raises? Seems so, by the way all our ‘No. 1-claiming’ newspapers and their websites ‘show’ or write about people, especially those who are doing well in their respective fields. Paparazzi is another word that would suit them well. Papers like Blitz and editors like Khushwant Singh started it all here in India, and seem to have ‘sprouted’ many wannabe journos trying to outdo them. If you celebrities I may call women were giving sexy and hot photoshoots for magazines covers, wore bikini and 2piece for money and modeling.That’s fare as you got money for the same as you like people buys those magazine after seeing your hot cover page on that.We on internet seeing largely those headlines on websites, hot photos by deepika,shridhha,sonam etc for a popular magazine, even Indicine published this kind of article mentioning Deepika’s cleavage revealing picture for the magazine. I don’t think there is anything bad, its just a way to be in limelight for finding fanny or Hny, yes a leading paper shouldn’t do that by tweeting but its not unusual and not happen with even Deepika first time.
