Dara Singh very critical after heart attack

Commonwealth wrestling champion and veteran Bollywood actor Dara Singh is critical in a Mumbai hospital after suffering from a severe heart attack, a hospital official said Saturday.

Dara Singh, 84, was rushed to the casualty ward of the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital around 5 p.m. Saturday by his family members as he could barely breathe, said the hospital’s executive director Ram Narain.

“He is extremely critical and after reviving him, we have put him on ventilator and heavy medication. The next few hours are important and we are constantly monitoring his condition,” Narain said

Dara Singh, who won the title of ‘Rustam-e-Hind’ for his wrestling prowess, appeared in various films and TV serials and is best known for his portrayals of Hanuman and Bhima.
