Dangal is yet another blockbuster for Aamir Khan. His third consecutive blockbuster or better after Dhoom 3 and PK. It’s also his fifth consecutive blockbuster during Christmas which includes films like Ghajini, 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3 and PK.
The trend of the film is extraordinary, even better than an universally acclaimed blockbuster like ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ last year.
Dangal has collected 23.07 crore (including collections from Tamil and Telugu versions) on Tuesday, to take its 5-day total to Rs 155.50 crore net.
Looking at the trend, the film will collect around Rs 196 crore in its first week. Thereafter, the film has 2 open weeks before the release of ‘Ok Jaanu’ on January 13 – including the big weekend for New Year, which will help bring more audience to theatres to watch Aamir Khan’s latest classic.
With 300 crore almost a certainty, the ‘PK’ record of Rs 341 crore is well within reach for Dangal. The level of collections in the second weekend will decide if the film will fall short of ‘PK’ or go on to be a much bigger grosser.

I watched Dangal on Monday . Dangal is one of the Best Films of 2016 . Performances by the entire cast is top notch . Aamir is brilliant as Mahavir Singh Phogat playing a strict father . It takes guts to play a 60 year old character having white hair, white beard and the father of 2 grown up daughters . Fatima Sana Shaikh is just amazing as Geeta . She was a child artist in Chachi 420 and One 2 Ka 4 and has come a long way . She will get the Award for Best Female Debut . Sanya Malhotra also gave a convincing performance as Babbita . Zaira Wasim was magical as Small Geeta and showed her class . Suhani Bhatnagar also stamped her authority by playing Small Babbita . Apparshakti Khurrana was really good as Omkar playing the Nephew of Mahavir Ji . Sakshi Tanwar was natural as Daya Kaur playing the character of a Harvanyi Housewife . The character of Pramod Kadam played by Girish Kulkarni was poorly written . The coach looked like a caricature in the entire film . Whatever he says does not make sense at all . The climax scene of Aamir being locked inside a door looked out of place to me . It was done to create a dramatic effect on the audience but did not look convincing to me . Apart from these minor glitches Dangal packs a solid punch . Dangal is easily the best film of Aamir Khan in this decade much better than PK . This film can be an inspiration for female wrestlers . This film can be an eye opener for Haryana where many girls are not allowed to pursue their dreams . Nitesh Tiwari has done an amazing job making his third film after Chillar Party and Bhootnath Returns . The wrestling sequences are brilliantly choreographed especially the first match between Zaira Wasim and the Male wrestler in Rohtak and the CWG Semifinal between Geeta and Naomi Edwards . The title song of Dangal is just amazing beautifully sung by Daler Mehendi . The lyrics of the song are real and create a huge impact . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are the biggest star right now, no doubt in that. this is another all time grosser for you which takes the count to 5 and no other actor in the history of indian cinema has more than 1 all time grosser whether it’s salman, srk, hritik, sunny or even mr. amitabh bachchan. you are the rajnikanth of multiplexes who don’t depend on any genre or banner to give huge initial.

This is bcoz BB was released on Eid and Dangal is on Xmas…. and even kids know that Christmas is better period for films business than others and ticket rates are higher than other releases. what matter is footfalls, BB had sold more tickets. Dangal is tax free in 4 States and BB were in none.
Congratulations @indicine. You have made bakra of yourself once again for the third consecutive time by messing with aamir. You did it during dhoom 3 by ignoring him completely, after its stupendous success which your so called favorite stars couldnt even come close, he himself came once again with PK which also you ignored and spread negativity like hiked price, copy of OMG rumors, and many other and still it became first movie to cross 300 cr and beat dhoom 3 by big margin and shut your mouth. Now after 2 years you still didnt learn anything from your past mistakes and did the same mistakes again and again by making a trumpet so many times like saying sultan will remain highest grosser and our bet is still on sultan, eluding aamir from true superstars list in one of the q&a session when you called rajesh khanna, amitabh bachchan srk and salman as true superstars (which is absilutely disgusting and disgracefull) but aamir has slapped you, kicked you black and blue for third consecutive time by not only thrashing sultan but also challanging pk and now it is all set to open 350 cr club and may be even 400 cr club (something unthinkable and out of reach milestone) and show you and your favorite star’s aukaat who is time and again failing to give ATHG since 1995 despite so called megastardom, highest so called fan following and what not. In the movie, Mahavir Phogat is taken to a room and locked up by a person sent by the Indian wrestling team coach just before the gold medal match. As a result, he misses the entire final.In reality, Mahavir Singh Phogat was in the stands during Geeta’s match and saw his daughter win the Commonwealth Games gold medal.

In the movie, Geeta Phogat doesn’t win a single tournament before the Commonwealth Games in 2010. She also receives a lot of flak from the coach in the movie for not excelling on the international stage.However, in reality, Geeta had earlier won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship in 2009, where she competed in the 55kg freestyle wrestling category. Interestingly, Geeta’s 2010 CWG gold was followed by another gold medal at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship in Melbourne in 2011!
Since 3 Idiots, its will be Aamir 3rd atbb in a row but Dangal success is most satisfying for me as an Aamir fan compare to D3 and PK.

Dangal will certainly breach past 300 cr by the end of 2 weeks if not then surely by the 3rd weekend.But i m looking for 350 cr which is hard but achievable if it follows this same trend.Congrats all Aamirians and a big thanks to all the neutral cinegoers all over the world for watching the movie & supporting good cinema.
