Dangal has beaten the first 3-day collections of Sultan, a period which is considered to be the first weekend even though Sultan released on Wednesday. There is very little gap between the two films – Dangal has collected 106.95 crore, while Sultan collected 105.53 crore. The last 3-day collections of Sultan (Fri, Sat, Sun) is even closer to Dangal.
The gap between films featuring Aamir – Salman and the rest is too huge at the moment. The third film in the list is ‘MS Dhoni The Untold Story’ which was riding on the pan-India popularity of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The rest are less than half of Sultan and Dangal.

If weekend collections prove stardom then it clearly proves aamir is the biggest Bollywood star right now.he has beaten single handedly all the hurdles like demonetization, boycott campaign,not so commercial movie,no romantic angle,not well known supporting cast and most important a movie on the same theme released same year featuring a megastar still this much collection. Hats off aamir.
Aamir last release on non holiday was Talaash that did not got success. Srk’s released film on non holiday was fan after a long gap of 2010 release MNIK. Fan also flop. So i don’t think the khans now ever release his filws without holidays.
You cannot compare the first three days of Sultan with that of Dangal because the 3rd day of Sultan is a normal friday while for Dangal it’s a Sunday plus Christmas advantage. Anyway Sultan had a 5 day extended weekend.

Dangal is excellent movie! No doubt!! Started loving Aamir Khan from PK movie. It’s Aamir reply to king khan Chak de india. Dangal made me to think Sultan like B grade film even though both related to wrestling. National award winning performance from every character in Dangal!! Proud of it!

Sultan brought ache din for bollywood now dangal bringing after demonitisation. both amir salman getting huge day by day. eid & christmas belongs to salman amir. they have made it lucrative. amir should do more films including action or larger then life roles like salman to increase craze in small centers. while salman continue to do films like bb,sultan,tubelight to increase the trust of neutral audience like amir. both are huge at their own level & know their strength.
These numbers are extraordinary considering there was no dhoom brand or Papa Hirani or top heroine etc etc

Just right now, I am coming from there,where I saw dangal first day in single screen cinema . I was stand outside for 1 hour to check that how many people are coming to watch dangal. surprisingly I found more people are coming as compared to Friday opening day. I hope be similar report across India. today will be 25 CR.

Why all lallu fans bothered about number of tickets footfalls ??? You guys doesn’t digest the fact that dangal roaring loudly without big banners famous leading lady romantic angle you has to remember it’s simply a big achievement bcoz sultan had lots of commercial ingredients and hits songs plus eid factor and in case of dangal it has only a single hollyday which comes on Sunday so don’t forget dangal had five day weekend so just celebrate succes of dangal bcoz even bhoojpuri movies tickets rate are very low and its generated more footfall same in the case of tollywood movies and you know cheap things attract more people so if people afford high tickets price in demonetisation than all credit goes to non other than aamir khan
