Nikhil Advani’s D Day has fared well in its first week at the domestic box office. The gangster film collected 13 crore in its first weekend, and then remained steady over the weekdays to collect 21.5 crore net in its first week.
The biggest problem for the film though, was the lack of interest outside Maharashtra. Even though the reviews were good and the word-of-mouth was generally positive all over, D-Day has only worked at a select few multiplexes in major cities.
Still, the film should remain steady in the Mumbai circuit in Week 2 and should end with lifetime collections of around 26-28 crore net.
