A complaint was filed in the magistrate court on Friday against Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan for allegedly encouraging false beliefs in an advertisement on TV. Hemant Patil, an activist has made the complaint.
He had earlier demanded a police case to be registered regarding the issue. Since the Bandra Police had been against registering a complaint, Patil was compelled to move court proceedings against the mega star.
The hearing for the case is scheduled to be on April 18. Magistrate Sita Kulkarni will be presiding over the proceedings.
The case has been filed under the acts Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013.
The problem started with the TV advertisement for Complan, a health drink brand. Bachchan reprises a character of a ghost that he had played for the Hindi movie Bhoothnath. He is also all set to appear in the sequel to the movie, Bhoothnath Returns.
According to Patil, the commercial encourages the existence of spirits and demons and also the need for magic to keep them away.
Patil’s lawyer, Wajid Pathan has said that the health drink company had created the advertisement without using a disclaimer either before or after the commercial was broadcast.
I have watched dat advertisement. .i don’t think there is any need for making it a big issue. .

What is happening in Indian people, media and advertising failed to do some disclaimer related to controversial thing and from that someone got a chance to stand against bollywood stars.This time its Big B.
not a big issue at all.hemant patil is a blind man and he could have got some demons in his dream after seeing the ad.also there might be a reason that hemant patil hates complan as it didn’t work for some peoples like amir.so it’s not amitabh’s guilty,his height is twice than required that psycho ghajini holds,lol.

People have lot of time and money to file these cases. Judiciary too is taking up these cases instead of genuine case like fraud, dowry & rape. Jai Ho.

He should be put in jail. Such dangerous people should not be roaming free.

Arrey yaar, judges don’t have time to solve important cases, and how come they even approve such cases. These kind of things should be squashed, but our laalchi judges want money so they will keep piling up all cases and then extract whatever from both parties.
If such issues brought to court…then sure that entire Ramayan/ mahabharat stories should be banned in india as it is degrading women!!. False beliefs that God came to earth and his wife god kidnapped by some king of srilanka and he cant do anything and takes help of hanuman…such stories in childhood will make people forget the true power of GOD.
