Can 3 Idiots beat Ghajini?
Few expected 3 Idiots to beat the record set by Aamir Khan’s very own Ghajini, but now, with mind boggling business (an understatement to be frank) all over India at both multiplexes and single screens, the Ghajini record looks beatable.
The weekend collections are around 40 crores nett (62 crores+ gross) including paid previews and the movie would need to further add 25 crores over the next 4 days (Monday – Thursday) to beat the 65 crore nett first week collections of Ghajini.
With many schools, colleges and offices closed during this extended Christmas – New Year weekend, the collections are expected to remain very steady in the next 3 – 4 days.
Nothing, not even the hike in ticket prices has affected the opening of 3 Idiots, infact it has only contributed in increasing the weekend collections.
Overall, 3 Idiots is the biggest weekend money spinner ever and Aamir Khan is the biggest star in the country. Period.

I doubt it can bet overall record but first week ,it will easily break or come to near.Holiday r in corner so look like it can sustain in 2nd week also but due to heavy collection of 1st week,2nd week will be around 20-30 crs

The 1st week record will be broken,but ghajini total gross was huge,around 265+ core,so it is not easy to beat.but can go close to ghajini easily.

some days ago i posted one comment about last 10 x mas releases and it showed that every time christmas releases are getting success due to long weekends, holidays, festive week and bollywood is not releasing new movies in jan 1st week coz history is witness that since Mela 2000 every 1st week release in jan is unsuccessful,
so a lots of reasons that movies are working of x mas , becuase they dont hv any compiter , long weekends , holidays.
do u know 3 Idiots was ready to release in june or july but Vidhu Vinod saw the track record of christmas releasesand last 2 aamir’s releases so he dicided to release it on x mas.
now Farah announced that she gonna release Tees Maar Khan in next christmas.
no doubt 3 Idiots is mindblowing movie and Ghajini was also perfect but if we will culculate avarage per day collection of Ghajini and 3 Idiots then 3 Idiots is more ahead then ghajini
ghajini 4 days collection 40 cr (including wed paid preview ) avarage 10 cr per day
3 Idiots 3 days collection 40 cr (including thu paid preview) avarage 13.3 cr per day
so if movie gets 50 % dip in rest 4 days then 6 cr x 4 = 24 cr
so 1st week would be somewhere 64-66 cr.
and 2nd week near to 30-32 cr
3rd week 10 – 12 cr
life time business 110-120 cr
i m not sure abt oversess that we didnt get any report from overseas yet.

till weekend report 3 Idiots is far ahead than Ghajini so how can we think that it cant break ghaniji’s record ?
in weekend ghajini per day avarage collections were 10 cr and 3 idiots are 13.3 cr
and 3 idiots is batter then ghajini as well.

and who said to u that ghajini’s got 265 cr,
ghajini was somewere 100-110 cr net gross in india

Nauman ghajini lifetime gross was 265+ core. N 3i is brilliant in overseas also. Specially north america n ur australia.

Nauman 3i has much more screen than ghajini.also ghajini weekend was 4 day n 3i is a 3 day weekend.so both r close.in occupency ghajini is ahead n in collection 3i is ahead but it has more screens than any other muvi.

N ghajini world wide collection is 265 core, second is rnbdj which is 180 core.i hav seen it on zoom chanel.not sure but u may find it in ghajini wiki also.

265 cr is gross or net ? may be it is gross if gross then 50 % off it would be near to 130 – 135 cr net world wide if this is the gifure then i am agree with u.

Oveseas ,movie already manage to get 10 crs till friday…It can be biggest hit till date in overseas also…..Aamir is rocking
