Buddha Hoga Tera Baap picked up over the weekend and posted some decent numbers, although the occupancy at theaters was much lesser than expected.
Viacom 18 co-partners of Ab Corp, have released the official box office collections for the weekend.
- Day 1 Friday – 1.90 crores
- Day 2 Saturday – 2.33 crores
- Day 3 Sunday – 3.09 crores
- Weekend Total – 7.32 crores
The last film produced by AB Corp also starring Amitabh Bachchan, did business worth 10.5 crores during its first weekend and the word-of-mouth for Paa was much better than Buddha.
Weekdays will be important for Buddha.. and if the film fails to hold on strongly, it is likely to loose out on screens at theaters for the next weekend. The fact that the film has been made on a medium budget will help, but theatrical business so far has been very disappointing.

BHTBaap is rock steady during the weekdays after decent weekend (given the fact that it was pitted against transformer and DB wave)….even in overseas it has performed well (with limited release)…..given its limited budget of 10 crores it has already covered cost of production and is profit with satellite rights sold at 13.5 crores…A SUPERHIT For sure!!!!
I can’t figure out why Bbuddah flopped even after a fantastic and enthusiastic internet trend and response!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BHTBaap already recovered its cost of production(10 CR) in the very first weekend from Indian and overseas market…From now on whatever it will collect will be a bonus..It is rock steady from Monday and will continue doing so this week and coming weekend…..I am pretty sure t will be superhit given its low cost of production(10 crores)……And yes not to forget that producers are already in profit before the release of film as it is sold for satellite rights in 13.5 crores……….No other so called star will ever dare to release his film against Amir khan production and Hollywood storm Transformer but BHTBaap will still emerge out as a winner in the long run…..YOU ROCK BIGB!!!!!
FLOP. Five day business is 9 crores. Actual cost of production including prints, media and publicity is not 10 crores but more close to 20 crores. Distributor share at the end of five days is 5 crores only so it is a big loss. BHTB did poor business overseas with figures staying under $ 500,000 for all of US, UK, UAE,& Australia combined. In comparison Delhi belly collected a healthy $ 1.6 million.
BHTB is one of the best movie which we have seen in last decade while DB is the worse movie which is served to india audiances.

no need to post a fake link of a fake website………Bbudha did ok overseas (collected 2.75 cr in limited screens) and already recovered its cost (Rs 10cr.) from Indian markets alone by additional 11.5 crores within first weekend : According to Taran Adarsh…….Go check his website……Also BHTBaap was sold at 13.5 cr before its release making it already a profitable venture….Kudos to BIGB of having galls to release the movie infront of two giants (Amir khan production and Hollywood tsunami Transformer3) and still emerging out as a winner………No other so called star would ever dare to do that

@Megha: I totally agree with you, but what i don’t understand is where were Amitabh’s fans before the release of BHTB? I mean i know he is a huge star and all but before we neevr see all those hardocre fans who are ready to fight on his side in any case! I think the number of his fans ha sincreased!

big bs performance on twittter was great,,,we all agree to that..but as you know only hit films are talked about ..so also this film as it has flopped will now be pushed into the dustbin and his performance will be forgotton.. as it is he has nothing new to offer
