Buddha Hoga Tera Baap started off slow at the box office on Friday, picked up during the weekend and remained steady throughout the weekdays despite heavy rains and stiff competition from other releases like Delhi Belly and Transformers 3.
After the shocking low of Friday, when Week 1 looked certain to be less than 9 crores nett, the positive word-of-mouth has ensured decent collections on weekdays. According to early estimates, Week 1 collections is around 10 – 11 crore Week 1, which is approximately the same as AB Corp’s last release Paa.
With plenty of competition this week and the coming weeks, it remains to be seen how well the film sustains. Week 1 though has ensured that Buddha Hoga Tera Baap at worst, will break-even.

BHTBaap already recovered its cost of production(10 CR) in the very first weekend from Indian and overseas market…hence whatever it collects later on will be a bonus..It is rock steady from Monday and will continue doing so this week and coming weekend…..I am pretty sure t will be a hit given its low cost of production(10 crores)……And yes not to forget that producers are already in profit before the release of film as it is sold for satellite rights in 13.5 crores……….No other so called star will ever dare to release his film against Amir khan production and Hollywood storm Transformer but BHTBaap will still emerge out as a winner in the long run…..YOU ROCK BIGB!!!!!
