The pre-release curiosity was good and the film was all over the internet – it was trending on twitter, almost everyone seemed to have LOVED the film, the reviews were exceptionally good – but all this matters for very little or nothing – atleast that’s what the box office opening of Amitabh Bachchan’s Buddha Hoga Tera Baap has just proved.
The film has opened to dismal numbers, the opening was low (occupancy was less then 20% for the morning and afternoon show) and the film never really picked up. People from the trade were expecting this weekend to be the second best weekend of the year (after Ready) and unfortunately both Delhi Belly and Buddha Hoga Tera Baap combined are unlikely to beat the opening of Double Dhamaal!
We predicted (at worst) a 9 crore weekend for Buddha Hoga Tera Baap and sadly that figure might not be achieved during its entire first week at the box office as the film collected just Rs 1.1 crore on Friday! These numbers are sure to be heart-breaking for the Bachchan’s.
They will be hopeful though as the last film produced by AB Corp, Paa also opened similarly with Day 1 collections of around 2 crores. But the film picked up on Saturday and Sunday to end the weekend at approx 10.5 crores.
The word of mouth is good and we do hope that Buddha Hoga Tera Baap picks up like Paa did over the weekend. Follow us on Facebook or Twitter and we will keep you updated.

I don’t know why action is not taken against spreading hate on the net in the name of religion. What is the purpose of leaving an identity if irresponsible statements are not checked. Coming to movie “Bhudha Hoga Tera Baap,” there is no use arguing about its merits or demerits on the basis of box office collections. Any sensible person knows that no film worth the name has done decent collections in last over 20 years after 2nd week, literally meaning that despite the cheap gimmicks of the so called successful stars of recent past to promote/market their movies they don’t have in them the real thing that attracts viewers for months and years together the way Big B’s films used to do in his hey days. As regards acting skills India has not produced any star and seems unlikely in future also that can come reach the platform of Amitabh leave aside matching him in acting or grace in public life. Hat’s off to this wonderful actor and also the most graceful human to have graced the bollywood industry.

BHTBaap already recovered its cost of production(10 CR) in the very first weekend from Indian and overseas market…From now on whatever it will collect will be a bonus..It is rock steady from Monday and will continue doing so this week and coming weekend…..I am pretty sure t will be superhit given its low cost of production(10 crores)……And yes not to forget that producers are already in profit before the release of film as it is sold for satellite rights in 13.5 crores……….No other so called star will ever dare to release his film against Amir khan production and Hollywood storm Transformer but BHTBaap will still emerge out as a winner in the long run…..YOU ROCK BIGB!!!!!

It is so sad that few commenters are against of AB without knowing about him.Big B is the greatest actor of bollywood having a great personality and his unique voice.It`s a wonderful thing that he is still working in bollywood as a leading actor on this age~69.If we go into flashback he has given a nos of blockbuster hits in indian cinema and this process is still continue.He has sung a nos of song in hindi movies which are huge popular.Could anyone tell me any actor`s name who sung song and were superhit.His dialogue delivieris and narrations are awesome and still remebered to people.Few nos of people have jealous agaiinst him like MNS in Maharashtra but he never cared about that,because he knows dirty dogs always bark and King always win.
