The hourly countdown has well and truly begun! Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year will release on Indian screens in less than 40 hours from now. The craze the film has managed to generate is tremendous, and the demand for tickets in advance has further encouraged the trade into believing that the film has every chance of breaking opening day records.
The early reports from those who have already seen the film is excellent, but then there has never been any big film carrying negative pre-release reports in the era of social media.

After the initial euphoria, it will all boil down to the content. If Happy New Year is as entertaining as Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Naa or Shahrukh’s last release Chennai Express, then expect records to be broken left, right and centre. After all, when Chennai Express ended its run, it was the highest grosser in India as well as the first film to cross 400 crore worldwide.

The weak point concerning your views is that u are calling HNY a FLOP at 180cr! Are u serious about that? If a film like BB (which is the costliest hindi film ever after D3) is a semi-hit at 140cr so a film like HNY which has lesser costs than that film should be a clean HIT at 180cr if not a SUPER HIT.
If the film if as good as CE and Kick it will easily cross those films. The real question is about whether it breaks D3 record or not!

A strong 2nd week & a good 3rd one will be needed after a huge opening in order to surpass the highest figure. We hope HNY will do it so.
Bang Bang Ki halat hoga. Surely, there is no doubt the movie will get big weekends, but can you personally imagine standing more than 3 hours in a theater during the weekdays?? There are big casts that might benefits the movie, but there needs to be something that holds the movies nerves. People should have interested on the plot as it goes along. Farah Khan has always been consistent giving crappiest movie, and all SRK fans knows it. The movie is huge for weekends, and I am sure the movie business will drop by 70% during the weekdays as Bang Bang. No stunts, same robbery, over acting, lengthen movie, are the reasons for the failure of the movie. I am expecting at least 200-230 cores which is simply achievable and if the story is good, it might touch 250-270. I don’t think it touches 300 tho under any circumstances..
King is a bad actor so lifetime below 150 crs
3 idiots screened only 1600, and still managed to do 202 cores. It was again back in 2009, where people aren’t interested in movies as they are now. Had 3 idiots released today, there is no doubt the movie would have easily done over 400 cores domestic, and about $40 millions world- wide. Well, PK might be little slow, but will definetly do some fantastic critics as 3 idiots. All the best.
