News and Rumours

  • Esha Deol and her boyfriend Bharat Takhtani’s engagement tomorrow at the Deol’s Juhu residence.
  • Salman Khan has a heart-of-gold and he proved it yet again while shooting for Ek Tha Tiger. Since his crew members couldn’t afford international calls, Salman ordered several sim cards and gifted them to his crew.
  • To convincingly play the role of a gangster in Shootout at Wadala, John Abraham has been asked to shed 20 kilograms of weight!
  • Director Shekhar Kapur will face the camera for the first time in more than 20 years. He has been cast as Kamal Haasan’s uncle in Vishwaroopam, a bilingual film that will release both in Hindi and Tamil. The film is directed by Kamal Hassan himself.
  • Badman Shakti Kapoor’s son Siddhant Kapoor will make his debut in Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala.
  • 90 year old O.P. Dutta, father of film director J.P Dutta, died on February 10th. The cremation was held today.
  • Anupam Kher’s father Pushkar Nath Kher too passed away yesterday.
  • Desi Boyz director Rohit Dhawan, married his long-time girlfriend Jaanvi Desi in Goa.
  • Priyanka Chopra will attend the 48th Annual Grammy Awards
  • Producer Ramesh Taurani has filed a case against Deepika Padukone for walking out of Race 2.
  • Rumour: Abhay Deol is no longer a part of Rajkumar Santoshi’s next. There are rumors that Sonam Kapoor too has decided to opt out.

Box Office Updates

  • Ek Main Aur Ek Tu opened to a good response on Friday. The film did about Rs 5.25 crores of business on Day 1. Collections picked up at multiplexes on Saturday as the word-of-mouth is strong!
  • Agneepath crashed in Week 3, much like Shahrukh Khan’s Don 2. Business at single-screens is likely to pick up over the weekend. The record of Salman Khan’s Ready is unlikely to be surpassed.
  • Gali Gali Chor Hai did about 5 crores of business in Week 1. This week it’s unlikely to add much. Lifetime collections should be under 6 crores. Verdict – Flop
