As expected, the collections of Bodyguard has been affected by the release of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, but the film has done enough in its extended first week to cross the lifetime business of Ready in just 11 days.
The 9 day first week collections were around 110 crores, while the second weekend was approximately around 14 – 15 crores which has taken the total to 125 crores in 12 days.
Due to the wide release (huge number of prints, shows) in Week 1, the second week collections were always expected to be much lower. Competition from another big Yashraj release didn’t help either and Bodyguard might struggle to go past the lifetime collections of Dabangg (140 crores).
Bodyguard is now 3rd in the list of all time biggest grossers, with only 3 Idiots and Dabangg ahead at the moment.
With the 3 Idiots record now out of reach, what remains to be seen is, if Bodyguard can beat Dabangg.

Salman Khan has broken all box office records and the good thing is he is breaking his own previous films records( wanted, dabaang, ready and now bodyguard). His movies are just getting bigger and better. Being Human is the main cause behind his success. I hope he continues to do the good work.
