Akshay Kumar’s Blue released with two other biggies this Diwali, Salman Khan’s Main Aur Mrs Khanna and Rohit Shetty’s All the Best.
Quite expectedly, Blue has stolen the show at the box office recording collections close to 85% on Day 1. Blue opened exceedingly well on Friday, dropped slightly but was steady on Saturday. Sunday all-India reports haven’t yet come in, but most shows at multiplexes in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai were sold-out.
With Monday being a Holiday in several parts of India, the business is expected to remain steady on the higher side. Tuesday, being a working day, will be a test. Given the budget (75 crores+) a good first week followed by a steady second week is very important.
Talking to Indicine.com, Deepak of Big Cinemas said “The response to Blue has been mixed, the hype and Akshay’s presence has resulted in a good opening. All The Best opened poorly but is picking up, Main Aur Mrs Khanna collections are very poor.”

If movie sustend then it will earn around 40 crs in 1 week with the other 2 competition looks very well……if it can manage decent collection after monday ..it earn will be around 60-70 crs…..just manage to be Hit!!!Hope it will be hit
I dont know what the movie MAMK was all about but plz tell me why Salman looks so sleepy.Why his eyes seems so tired and sleepy as if he has come straight from bed without freshing up.

Did get to see All the Best and MAMK in Southern California and, must say, next to Blue the audience was quite poor….I was one of 6 people in the theatre on Saturday Night for MAMK while Blue was near a sellout….which is fine for Blue but too bad for MAMK as I thought it was a very nicely produced story and production. “All the Best” was…well what can one say….but at least a third of the theatre was full…and lots of laughs.

@akash: abe jaake check kar AKKI has so many films lined up that he dont even have dates for next 2-3 years. producer teri tarah nahi hai (bavakoof) ki faltoo me paisa lagaye agar AKKI ki movies hit nahi ho rahi ho . check out on websites how it collected 100 crores it includes other thing as well apart from ticket revenue. critic review kharaab hai par public review for BLUE is good . Dekha mr Salman ki Movie ka kya haal hua.

Blue has done just Rs. 28.50 crore biz till 21.10.09. the movie is good in treatment but lacks gripping screenplay & emotion. (body is beautiful but souless). The film will not cross Rs. 40 crore and would be a complete disaster considering the fact that it’s the costliest hindi film ever made at a budget of Rs. 100 – 140 crore. Just one song recording with Kylie plus her fees costed the film Rs. 10 crore.
