Akshay Kumar’s Blue has won the Diwali box office battle by a huge margin. The second best release, All The Best, has done less than half the business of Blue for the weekend. Here are some figures day wise for the first 4 days (approx, close to the exact nett gross)
- Day 1 (Friday) – 6,40,00,000 – opened well
- Day 2 (Saturday) – 5,35,00,000 – dropped due to Diwali
- Day 3 (Sunday) – 7,60,00,000 – Picked up big time again on Sunday and recorded the best collections for the weekend
- Day 4 (Monday) – Figures will be updated soon, movie has done good business on Monday (holiday).
Total so far for 3 days – 19,30,00,000 (19.35 crores)
Total for the extended weekend (4 days, expected nett gross) – 26,50,00,000 (26.5 crores).
Just a reminder that due to the budget, its important that the business remains steady for the rest of the week and the next weekend. With no major releases this Friday and All the Best as its only competitor, a lot would depend on the repeat audience and word of mouth.

blue will sustain on the weekdays also because it has everything that was promised,best stunt sequences this nation has ever seen [talking abt bollywood].coolest underwater action and hotest women.and to every haters surprise their is a story also ,allthough in an action flick story is not as imporatant as the quality of action.

in bollywood hungama Taran Adarsh said that BLue got 10 cr net 16 cr gross on friday but u said 6.4 cr
and today in midweek report he said it is biggest opener of the yr if Blue got only 26 cr in 4 days it should be biggest opener coz Love aaj kal and kambakht ishq both got 25 cr + in 3 days. so plz double check the figures and tell us know what r the original figures. it spouse to be more then 40 cr in 4 days.
I dont why they r comparing “Blue” with “all the best” , Its like comparing Ghajini to golmaal . Blue is and will be a Blockbuster . bcoz of critics ppl r also feelin movie s bad… this movie may make around 50 crores in its full run.. n accordin to producers they `ve already sold the movie before release, n music rights satellite rights al `ll add up 25+crores. so this movie `ll be average to above average..
Dear Indicine readers, one thing is for sure that this movie has done very good in Diwali weekend while competing with 2 other big releases. Good news is just 1 big release (MAMK is super disaster so only ATB). Blue has already made about 26.30 crores money only in India. But as per the box office reports coming from abroad, it is doing far better than ATB and forget about MAMK(not at all in competition).
The sudden jump in ATB collections on Sunday and Monday was because people had already seen Blue and wanted to see another movie now. So they chose ATB (as I said MAMK is a no-choice). Thats why though blue also had jumps on Sunday and Monday after the puja, it was not as much as ATB but the collections of each day in the weekend (extended) far exceeded ATB as well.
Now, comes Tuesday which is acid test for both Blue and ATB, there will be huge repeat audience for that movie which is better of the two. As my instinct tells me, Blue will win from Tuesday on till October 30th as ATB is not watchable twice at all unlike Hera Pheri or Phir Hera Pheri. Blue is indeed watchable twice at the least because of excellent action sequences, super excellent photography, excellent underwater and bike action and stellar performance by Akshay, and a good performance by Zayed as well. Also AKshay’s star power comes in here as well.
So dear AKshay fans, wait for Tuesday’s BO collections. I am also a huge Akshay fan but almost like Akshay I have a cool head unlike the fans of many other actors. I guess Indicine will update them quickly. Though their reviews are not always likeable by me, I like their BO figures which are close to perfect.
The movie was just about o.k It’s a One time watch movie according to me. I don’t think it will be able to sustain after monday. Only Akshay was good in the movie. Other star cast was good for nothing. Lara flaunted her curves well but she couldn’t act that well. She has definitely trimmed down her body but to be in the bikini all the time is not enough for the movie to work at the box office. Katrina is wasted. I don’t know why she did this movie? She just had the sp. appearance in it. Sanjay looks old and fat. Zayed can’t act that’s for sure….All in all, I think the movie suffers because of it’s storyline……Actually there is nothing gr8 in the story….
I really hope that it recovers its cost in the first week itself as it will be very difficult for it to do good business in the second week. On the other hand “All the best” is picking up well and giving tough competition to Blue. I think “All the best” will come out to be a winner in the end. Main aur Mrs. Khanna has already lost the battle….

Critics are right my friends, blue will be a disaster for Akshay, he has already been in 2 of the biggest flops of bollywood (chndni chowk to china and kambhakt ishq) and is going to be part of another 1 (Blue). on the other hand all the best is the best comedy film of this year and doing quiet well , so no doubt it will the winner at the boxoffice, those who have not heard the story of rabbit and totoise think that blue is the winner. poor people , i really feel for them. God bless them and give them some knowledge.

It all depends on how the movie is promoted. Blue was promoted as an Akshay Kumar movie to bring in the audience. If you compare.. Akshay’s role was as long as SRK’s in Billu.. Just that Billu wasn’t promoted as an SRK film, it was called an ‘extened special appearance’ the result was a poor box office opening and but eventually the flop didn’t affect SRK.
But since Blue was promoted as an Akshay starrer, Irrespective of the box office verdict, the movie was riding on his star power. If it didn’t open to expectations, the media would have written him off yet again.
U guys are spoiling somebudy’s hard work . I am sure that critics have not even seen the movie, beacause if they would have seen it , they can not give it such bad reviews…..
Of course if movie like love ajj kall was a magic for them, then these guys do not deserve to be critics…

I watched both movies BLUE & ALL THE BEST.There is no comparison between both movies,story line is different.Blue is the movie which stands for its picturisation,action.While ATB has its comedy and chemistry b/w AJAY & SANJAY DUTT.the opening of Blue sets the standard of earning,with AKKI’S fanfollowing while ATB is on track of making AJAY a huge profit which may help in recovering from his previous home production movie.IN BLUE all characters are given same attention while in ATB there is more focus on DUTT & AJAY.I have read reviews of critics they are there for criticies.I am fan of AKKI’S action and comedy and AJAY’S serious acting.waiting for AKKI’S DE DANA DAN and AJAY’S LONDON DREAMS.
