Like we predicted last night, Farhan Akhtar’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has picked up across the country on Saturday. The film has collected Rs 10.5-11 crore on its second day, taking its 2 day total to around 20 crore net.
Circuits like Delhi/UP, Mysore, Mumbai and East Punjab were excellent with around 20-30% jump in business from Friday.
The word-of-mouth is tremendously positive, and some early reports for Sunday suggest that the film will collect anywhere between 32 – 34 crore in its first weekend. Advance booking for the evening/night shows is excellent.
Even though the trailer was liked and the film was promoted well, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was a period film starring Farhan Akhtar. The film was expected to open well, but the first 2 day collections has exceeded all trade expectations.

WOM is positive. Well it should depend on how movie holds over weekdays.
@JM.. very much. The first 2 days is about the same as Barfi. But a lot would depend on how well it sustains on Monday. Anything above 6 crore would mean first week collections of 52 – 55 crore.
They have timed the release perfectly too. Since filmmakers tend to avoid the Ramadan period, there are no major releases before Chennai Express on 8th August. So the film has 3 open weeks at multiplexes.
Watched bhag milka bhag and must say it’s a must watch film for everyone. All the actors done their job perfectly. Farhan Akhtar and a boy who played farhan’s chilhood were excellent. Surprised that there wasnt even single boring moment for 3 and half hour movie, be it sports part, partition part or love story angle, each and every part was not just enjoyable but emotionally touching too. If anyone miss this film then they are gonna loose a very precious experience. There were not just one but several “wow” moments and such that we will even forget to clap for such scenes. I would say this movie is TITANIC of bollywood bcuz it takes us to different world and will make strongest of strong person emotional and feel for the character. For me it was the first time that people in the theatre were clapping when the movie got finished
saw it today, awesome mind blowing, what a movie man ……i have no words to express it, people and media should actually encourage these kind of movies, it is so well made and acted. kudos to milkha singhmfarhan akhtar,rakeysh om prakash mehra and the whole team of BMB !!! movies like this deserve way beyond 100 cr, the best movie of the year so far.

but theres nothing lyke that with BMB .. and even WOM is better .. so Can we Interpret that it will produce around 130-140 crore ?? :) :)

Ramaiya Vastavaiya is likely to open well and it can give some competition to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag!!!!

@DANISH, it wasn’t just 5 or 6 people nor 10 or 12 people but 99% people present in theatre were clapping when the real milka singh’s pics shown at the end of the movie, that was the effect the film made for milka singh. But I didnt bcuz my finger got injured so
@babaji, I have had got the chance to watch special chabbis too, in theater. But honestly speaking, more then 50 % ppls were sleeping when the film got over.
85cr minimum it may touch 100cr.
Farhan Akthar had done fantastic Job by getting into skin of the character Movie will surpass 100Cr definitely as it have 3 open weeks as mentioned by indicine but it was a classic and master piece
100Cr will come and go or vanish inour minds but these type of classic will remained and remembered Forever in our Hearts
