Action movies are all the rage lately in Bollywood and almost every top star has featured in one massy-action film.
But who is the best action hero in Bollywood today? Here are the nominees.
- Akshay Kumar – The Khiladi! Need we say more? From being written off by the critics at the beginning of the year, Akshay has once again emerged as a box-office force to be reckoned with. Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore are two of the biggest grossers of 2012.
- Salman Khan – Unarguably enjoying the best phase of his career, Salman has only done action-masala films in the last couple of years. This year too, he has two similar films lined up for release – Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2. Is he the best action hero in Bollywood today?
- Shahrukh Khan – He’s the king of romance, but SRK has also excelled as an action hero. In the last decade, the superstar has featured in action films like Don, Ra One and to a certain extent Main Hoon Na.
- Hrithik Roshan – Almost every time Hrithik has done action, his films have been hugely successful at the box-office. Dhoom 2, Krrish and this year’s Agneepath.
- Aamir Khan – It’s Aamir who started the trend of South Indian action remakes with Ghajini. Next year, he returns as an action hero with Dhoom 3.
- Ajay Devgan – He started his career with action, then did some serious films and returned last year to cash-in on the trend. Singham was one of the biggest hits of his career.
- John Abraham – The turning point in John’s career was the first film in the Dhoom series way back in 2004. Since then, the actor has appeared in just one action film Force.
Other actors who deserve a mention, but haven’t delivered a solo action hit in a long time – Amitabh Bachchan, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Dharmendra, Jackie Shroff and many more. Each actor a legend, but including these names would be unfair, as they probably won’t get enough votes.

i will vote SRK for this poll becouse as i think bollywood has not any actor who can make action like him , the action iam talking about is not killing one punch/slap for 20 men like salman , ajay or most of the bollywood actors do .

I hate south remakes and south directors coz they make mindless movies.
While SRK is tryig to improve bollywood action style to higher standards , salman and all the actors are moving backward for acting films like singham and bodygaurd.

I put ajay as 3rd because he also set a trend during 90s in action, making an entry by standing on two motorbikes and had some fight training. I put akshay ahead because he did the most dangerous stunts back with martial arts training, he is the best technical action hero we have. Suniel Shetty was the first bodybuilder in bollywood and had a kickboxing black-belt and training. I forgot to add Mithunda who was great and good fighter. Sunny is there because he’s sunny the di kilo ka haath that raws ith angers. Salman is nowhere near these guys what they done for action genre past 2 decades, salman has only recently became an action hero post 2009, and none of his action movies are original, its remake and has too much fakery and CGI.

im from south india, i love bollywood movies but now a days only south remakes r going on bollywood so im not able to watch bollywood movies coz i already seen all those south movies which is remaked , akshay kumar aur salman khan ko bollywood se bahar beko then only i can watch original bollywood movies and remember mere jaise bahut south pplz hai who loves bollywood a lot, except sharukh khan each and every actor is making sout remakes
