Besharam Opening Day Box Office Collections

Besharam has collected around 20 crore on its opening day at the domestic box office, which is about 20% below what most in the trade expected the film to collect.

With the craze for Ranbir Kapoor at the all time high after the success of Barfi and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, major holiday release, second widest release ever for a Hindi film (3550 screens) and with Abhinav Kashyap the director of Dabangg at the helm – Besharam was expected to collect around 25-26 crores on its opening day.

The film started well in the morning and continued to do well for the most part of the day, but as word began to spread that the content of the film wasn’t upto the mark, the night shows dropped.

For most films, a slight drop in business for the night / late night shows is normal when the following day is a working day. But with all the negativity surrounding the film, it might well be a sign of heavy drops in the next few days.

  • @indicine team, please give the article on Most likedtrailer of hindi movie on Youtube, bcoz Looks like R…Rajkumar trailer is Storms on Youtube like never other except krish 3 till now

  • With Such Extremely Negative Reviews Around Still Besharam Opening Is Nice ..

It Proved Ranbir Is SuperStat Now !!!

  • According to haters Ranbir is a superstar. Young, Energetic Hero.. but full public holiday just 20cr. They said Besharam will trash CE Record.

Those who think Khans are old now just rethink. Khans are Khans no one can challenge them mind it.

If you think CE was crap but look still CE is Biggest Ever in Hindi Cinema. If Ranbir is really a Superstar and bigger then SRK then prove it with Boxoffice to Cross CE with weak content. Till then keep silent. Cheers

  • after stupendous success of Chennai Express at the box office. some fans thought its very easy to cross 200 CRORES and thought besharam would also cross 200 CRORES. lol. joke of the millennium. won’t even cross 120 CRORES

  • “Besharam” started on positive note and managed very good numbers on day one. But if one compares the film with last Ranbir release YJHd which was a non holiday release then one can see the huge disappointment. YJHD managed 19.45 cr nett on Friday where “Besharam” collected only 5% better with wider release and national Holiday.

Film collected 20.25 cr nett on day one yesterday but cracks are visible already which is a bad sign. Though film was exceptionally good in North – East Ounjab, Delhi, UP were phenomenal (as we predicted) where film was only 2nd to “EK Tha Tiger”. But film was on lower levels in central India, Mumbai and south.

As per early trends today, film has dropped considerably on day two in morning shows and occupancy is no better than 30%. This would had been good if day one was 25 cr nett plus but with such day one now next two days are crucial. As per very early trends, it seems that our prediction 8 cr nett for today will not be far off the mark.

Film will find it tough to touch 10 cr nett mark. Film was also average in overseas and collections remained within 1.40 cr.

  • 3550 screens (2nd widest release), solo release, national holiday (note: it is not a festive holiday where people are busy with festivals), masala mass genre, riding high on the success of YJHD n barfi, media hyping him to be as big superstar as salman n srk n showering heaps of praises about his stardom, acting credentials, choice of movies blah blah blah.. at the end only 20 crores??? superstar really??? now u r blaming it on the movie.. yes i admit besharam is a bad movie no doubt but had it starred salman or srk it would have collected 32 crores+ easily irrespective of the movie being good or bad in today’s business dynamics.. now that is what u call a superstar.. what happened to the excellent script choice, acting talent n stardom of ranbir??? none of it were visible in the movie.. can the media answer it to me??? ranbir is a star but not a superstar.. he is a media hyped superstar.. he needs good scripts to make his movies a hit but salman n srk need none of it.. now thats a mark of a superstar

  • @ All Srk fans: Chill yaar, why are you so scared. Praise other actors films too.

For records to shatter wait for K3 and D3.

  • @ Sahir: In romantic genre your king score 104 crores and the prince has scored 180 crores. Wait for emperor’s KICKKKKKKKKKKKK , all the records will be shattered

  • Hahaha so many ranbir haters on this site reason enough to declare he is a superstar whether you agree or not, yes it is right overjoyed ranbir fans thought besharam will collect 200 or 150 cr which is looking out of reach now may be possible that it can’t reach 100 cr, but with only this film you can’t degrade ranbir achievement with just 6 year of his career he has shown his versatility and acting abilities so effectively so doesn’t matter if his next 1 or 2 movie become flop or underperformed but he is definitely a young superstar to look forward too. I don’t understand why srk fans saying that ce got mixed reviews i think they want to prove that its only srk who made the film to cross 200cr, yaa srk hater can say ce crap but his fans should know that ce got mostly +ve public review, i know at the time of dabangg release critics thrashed the movie more than ce, but public loved that movie like they found ce entertaining because 200cr can’t be done with stardon it requires content having +ve wom

  • this is what happens when you over hype a movie ! Ranbir Kapoor is a star .. no doubt ! but he has a long way before he is termed a Superstar ! He is dependent on the content (YJHD, Barfi, Rockstar. etc) which he has to chose carefully till he attains Superstardom.
as of now .. my prediction for Besharam : 60-65 crores weekend. Lifetime : may struggle to reach 100 crores.
    Verdict : Above Average/ Semi-Hit.
& among upcoming relaeses, Boss looks promosing, Akshay is back with the content he is the best.
Boss Lifetime : 120 crores ! may even exceed 120.
Krrish 3 is been over hyped, it looks like a 2006 movie. Rakesh Roshan needs to realise, times have changed, audience does not want another Krrish.
Lifetime : 140 crores ! or even less if WOM is negative & if movie is rejected.
Dhoom 3 – An over-hyped Aamir Khan, a struggling Abhishek, a funny Uday Chopra, a Katrina who has nothing to do & Vijay Krishna Acharya, a director who gave us the disaster called ‘Tashan’. Dhoom 3 is bound to fall flat in its face. Mark My words.
Lifetime : 130-145 crores. again the lifetime may prove to be even worse if the movie is rejected by the audience.
Note : Dhoom 3 & Krissh 3 have huge costs riding on them. So they atleast need to touch the 170 cr/ 160 cr respectively to be hits.
Boss will be a sure-shot hit.
all those following each & every movie, in the hope that Chennai Express record is broken, calm down. The record will remain unbeaten for atleast 2 years, even Happy New Year won’t be able to break it, the only movie I see breaking Chennai Express’ record is SRK’s Don 3. Reasons – it will be the last movie in the series + huge hype + excellent content + SRK himself.
so SRK haters ! Keep Calm & Love SRK :)

  • @Nilesh u r such a sick n ill minded. I said KING’s weak scripts and contents delivers 100cr. So i will accept the one real superstar who will deliver 100cr + which will be converted into 150cr with weak contents n script like Sir SRK & Salman.

  • @zeeshan,keep your nonsense opinions with yourself, both krrish 3 and dhoom 3 have new things to offer while your srk’s ce was the same ghisa pita masala ! you don’t need to worry about K3 and D3, they are going to the biggest this year.

you salman and srk fans watch your star’s film no matter what the story is or is it bad or good, you fans don’t care and watch it, this is what we call “BLIND” fans ! whatever you are served, you gulp it down your throat, be mature, appreciate good films, stop giving importance to only your fav stars, if your stars are making bad films hits due to their stardom then i must say they are destroying indian cinema, they should use their stardom in producing good films, not trash. you fans never allowed them to perform better because you all get satisfied with whatever they give you.

  • Besharam is definitely better than national award driven son of sardaar, himmatwala etc.
Ajay Devgan is baap of terrible films, even zanjeer can dare his films.
Soon to receive lifetime achievement award for horrible cinema for
    himmatwala and son of sardaar.
We thought making horrible films was salman & akshay forte.

  • @Nilesh & @Aks Kick will Kick-out from Theaters same like Kick out from British Land. So suxxx ur thumbs till the release of Kickour Kick.

  • When the time comes chennai express’ record will be broken,
why rush to announce potential record breakers.
Most times unexpected films break records.
When films are so hyped some viewers sit at home and say lets see how it will break its record.

  • I’m not too surprised, I always expected it to be less than 25 crores, as the promos and the music of the film wasn’t well received by the public.

  • Sahir kick will be out from theatre sure but with kick out so many records be careful because that kick will be so dangerous to salman haters like u, so till them khush rah, surakshit raho.

  • Fact is ranbir is a media hyped star he is not even a good actor he is acting in every film looks same to me,his as usual stupid comic timing nothing great and i am not saying this cause of besharam cause it is evident from his 1st movie,he is only a media hyped star kid nothing else not even a good actor.

  • @Aks why u avoid to reply about London Shedule Issue? British dont want to see Salman on their Land coz they r afraid of Killer & Drunk Khan. Also they know how big fan flowing Salman have in Uk so they dont care about his Super Star Status of Salman at Domestic Level. They know his presence will not creat any impressive hopla in UK. As Salman had a recent Flop show in Dubai with Priyanka. All knows his strenght out of home.
