The Film Federation of India (FFI) has selected Anurag Basu’s Barfi as India’s entry for Oscar nomination. While many other critically acclaimed films like ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, ‘Kahaani’ and several other films were shortlisted by the jury members, Barfi! was eventually selected to represent India in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
As expected, the lead stars of the film were ecstatic when the news broke out.
Ranbir Kapoor: We are not nominated yet. Once we do, the feeling will come. We have a lot of faith in the film. It feels great, but the greater feeling is that the audience is liking the film and its doing well at the box office. It has reached people’s hearts. The love that the film has got and the collections show this. We really didn’t expect it to reach that far.
Priyanka Chopra: Yay! Congratulations Team Barfi! This is such amazing news. This film was a labour of love for all of us and to see it receive such amazing success is so gratifying. This has been the toughest character of my life and to see everyone loving Jhilmil is such a dream come true. I am thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful team who made this happen

Well when I read the topic and at the end starts react I though that other stars like SRK,amitabh,hrithik etc etc would be reacting but it is the movie star themselves!

Just saw Barfi, Its a very well made film, its deserve to go for Oscar for year 2012, Very well acted by Ranbir priyanka, well directed BUTTTTTTTTTTTT. WE CANNOT SAY ITS A All time watchable movie
some occassion while watching Barfi feel boring, Charlie Chaplin comic scene adaption its not something new, Following Black of sanjay leela bhansali its not new, their are many such reason which does not make Barfi among the Final Five Foreign Movie for OSCAR………….

but i’m extremely disappointed to heart this news. no way it deserves an entry. on what grounds????????????the other movies were far better than this crap.i strongly suspect anurag basu bribed the federation…or he is having some strong contacts in the upper margin for this pathetic situation.i’ve lost the entire respect to film industry.very sorry.
Barfi may be a good film for Indians. But it is copied from western films. Some of the scenes are directly lifted from Chaplin movies. check this link
