Bang Bang has collected Rs 128.03 crore in its first week at the box office, including collections from Hindi and all other regional versions. The film opened well on Thursday, but failed to show any growth in business on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday too, Bang Bang wasn’t up to trade expectations as the film just about managed to better its Saturday collections.
The downward trend continued on weekdays, with drops in the range of 15-20% every single day. Bang Bang will collect around 135 crore in its first extended week.
Individual distributors who paid a premium expecting record business for the film, will end up losing a part of their investment. Rajasthan distributor will lose about 2 crore. The film has collected just 6.2 crore in 7 days in the circuit, giving it a share of around 3.3 cr. The newly introduced entertainment tax in the state (effective from August 1st, a week after the release of Kick) has affected business.
Overall, as far as the all-India collections of Bang Bang is concerned, it has been a decent week for the film. Like Jai Ho earlier this year, business has underwhelmed the trade only because of the sky-high pre-release expectations and prices that a few distributors paid. It’s probably time that the trade stops expecting 200 crore grossers from films that release outside the three major festive weekends, as films that carry mixed reports fail to sustain. Also, ticket prices are hiked by 10-20% during festive weekends, which makes a huge difference to the final outcome.

@Nipun, What negativity are you talking about? If a film does well, there will be positivity. If not, what do you expect? Compare the trends of Kick and CE with Bang Bang and you’ll get your answer.

An brilliant actor can ensure his brilliant performance in a movie. Hrithik has shown his brilliance in the movie.
A superstar ensures good opening and Bang Bang has opened in good no.s. .
Now time for HR fans to cry and tag this collection as DECENT despite competion from 1200000000000000000 screen released film HAIDER….Am pretty sure that BANG BANG collection is below 8 crs not above.

15 cr 10 cr 8 cr on weekdays. its doing well. despite a clash. and a non franchise film. it has done very well. i saw it yesderday in IMAX. it was an awesome movie. way much better then kick. thumbs up for HRO. u rock man….

Even Chennai Express suffered from a lot of negativity from haters upon release, and was rated low by hipocritical critics, but still it became highest grosser. Hrfans you have no excuse.

@Indicine- for god sake bang bang did not even finish its theatrical run and you jump into conclusion that is not doing well, yes agree that the collections are not huge but its not bad either infact its going good so far, it has an open run for the next 12 days to collect money till than we have to wait. Bang Bang has already done 128 crores, going by the trend it can add another 50-60 crores..this coming weekend (saturday & sunday) it will show a good jump in collections….
Collections are poor considering 5 back to back holydays it got on its 1st week..

i am talking about those negativities which are being created by some sites and even some people. On FB,admins of most of the bollywood pages are always posting shit about BangBang like BangBang is like this and that. Now on twitter, I saw some people were trying trend about the manipulation over BangBang collection.
Even CE and kick didn’t get great reviews from critics or they were also okaytype movies,But they never got such negativity . Yeah! Bang Bang is entertaining,but not trending well like ce and kick due to some reasons like Non-festive release,Negativity over BangBang content and at the same time,so much appriciation over haider,less no. of shows per day compared to other biggies. .
