Badrinath Ki Dulhania Box Office Opening

Badrinath Ki Dulhania has opened very well at the box office on Friday morning. The film has managed to open well at places where most Hindi films – barring those of established superstars – do not even get a initial.

BKD was film that was targeted at the heartland of India and the audience here have turned up in significant numbers, inspite of the fact that the film did not feature a top star. It’s UP and especially Bihar where the film has opened very well. Cities like Patna were going houseful right from the early morning shows.

The level of business in the morning suggests the film could collect 13-14 crore on Day 1, which would be the second highest opening day total this year after Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees.

Metro city multiplexes were above average in the morning, with business expected to pick up as the day progresses.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania is yet another Varun Dhawan film that has managed to take a initial. Every previous film of his has opened well at the box office and his latest is no exception. The presence of Alia Bhatt has added tremendous value too.

Overall, it’s a solid start, the second best initial of the year so far. If the evening shows grow at multiplexes, Badrinath Ki Dulhania could get close to the opening day of ABCD 2.

  • BKD.
    – Screen – 2000-2500
    Occupancy – 30-35%
    Collection – 14-15 crs…. but

    Sultan.
    Screen – 4500
    Occupancy – 75%
    Collection – 36 crs only….

if we go by Logic then
Sultan’s collection would be more than 40 crs….

    ex : – BKD : Scr – 2500. Occ – 35%. Coll – 15 crs
    Sultan : Scr – 2500. Occ – 75% Coll – 15×2=30 (coz occupancy is double)
And another 10 crs in 2000 screens.. (if not more)…..
Sultan would have collected more than 25 crs in 4500 screens with 75% occupancy. Then why not 40 crs with double occupancy ?!

Screen Double, occupancy more than double but collection low I mean just 36, how & why ?

  • Or……

    BKD’s Real – (Screen – 2500, Occupancy – 35%, Collection – 15 crs.

    Let assume….
    BKD : Screen – 2500, Occupancy – 70% (35×2), Collection – 30 crs (15×2). I doubled the collection as I doubled the occupancy.

    Then BKD in 4500 screens….
    Screen – 4500, Occupancy – 70% Collection, 30 + 10 = 40 crs (just added 10 crs in 2000 screens)

Then How Sultan’s Collection was just 36 crs in 4500 screens with 75% occupancy ?! (and yes plz haters don’t say that the collection in Bihar will be lower than Mumbai…. coz I already took just 10 in 2000 screens…. coz if it could collect 30 in 2500 why not 10 in 2000 ?!)
