Emraan Hashmi’s Azhar has just completed an average first weekend at the box office. Given the huge marketing campaign and the fact that it was a biopic on a former Indian cricketer, Azhar was expected to touch the 25 crore mark in its first weekend. But the film has collected less than 21 crore in 3 days.
On Monday, almost all centres have dropped by around 50-55%. So both the weekend trend and the hold on Monday doesn’t seem to indicate that the film will have a long and successful run.
Azhar has to hold to around 3.5 – 4 crore on Monday to have any chance of becoming a decent grosser.

Emraan hashmi has been misled by bad directors , horrible supporting cast and heroines..
Look at the supporting cast of Kapoor and Sons… , the non-actor Sid did not have to do anything in the film still the credit went to him instead of Alia n Fawad who r actual show-stealers…
See the case of 2-states, hskd, half Gf , ki n ka, and other dharma films.. , same is the case.

If it clashes with Kaabil, Raees lifetime will be lower than Azhar.
So it will do 3 crore aprox on moday.

Azharuddin’s life is so interesting that a great movie could had been out of it but the director messed it up . He deserved a better a biopic .
I saw Azhar yesterday and it is a pretty mediocre movie . Azhar is a Biopic gone wasted according to me . There were many aspects in Azhar’s life which could have shown but the main focus is on Match fixing scandal which is not exciting . Emraan has done a good job but in some of the scenes he does not look like Azhar especially when he is clean shaved . Prachi is good but she does not gets scope to pack a punch . Nargis is horrible as always . She does not know acting and she should accept this . She should do glamorous roles but not emotional roles as she is very poor . The love story between Azhar and Sangeeta should have been avoided or shown in a better way . The cricket scenes look completely fake . It looks they were shot in some kind of indoor studio . It looks like a typical movie and not a Biopic . When you watch a Biopic you should feel you have seen the person journey through your eyes but Azhar looks filmy . Even fiction movies are better than Azhar . So Azhar will be Emraan’s 8th back to back Flop and probably Azhar was the best chance to deliver a hit . Biopic, cricket theme, extensive marketing campaign and good release date . Now it looks almost impossible to make a comeback . Raaz Reboot is scheduled to release on 16th Sept so this might be the last chance of Emraan to do an encore . Raaz has been the most successful horror franchise in India . All the three movies have been very successful so maybe RR can be a Hit but after the failure of Azhar the chances are pretty low . In these 8 movies after Raaz 3 Emraan has tried to do everything – Thriller, Horror/Supernatural, Comedy, SCI-FI, Romance and now Biopic but he had failed in every genre . The biggest reason for the failure of these movies are none of them were impressive . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
20cr for Emraan Hasmi isnt bad…a good matured acting from him! Hope he keeps growing like this! :)

Azhar was a good film and best performance of Hashmi till date I don’t knw what is wrong with indian audience good film are not performing in boxoffice but senseless film are performing great e.g baghi ki&ka
Only franchise movies are options for emran to cross 50 crore collection & That’s a Shame . STRUGGLER
Emran is also doing 4 movies per year continously like Akshay and u can see the result,struggling to cross 40 crores.
Emraan hashmi should take Himesh Reshammiya as Music Composer,they have given several chartbuster together… Only thing missing in Emraan movies off late is good massy Music,lets wait for Raaz Reboot
