Ayesha says no to intense love making scenes.

Not all actress are all that easy going and ready for anything type. Some have their own set of rules which every director has to agree to sign the lady for the movie.

Ayesha Takia appears to be quite a prude if you consider her contract with producers. Read some of the rules from the contract that are spelt out loud and clear, and you’ll know what we mean. The contract says: no dare-bare scenes, no kisses, no lovemaking scenes, no bikinis.

Recently, Ayesha’s director Anurag Kashyap went through quite a crisis during the making of No Smoking, thanks to Takia’s Victorian fervour. He had to change an intense lovemaking scene into a funnier version of pillow talk simply because it didn’t suit his leading lady. Her nerves of steel didn’t quite thaw to give the illusion of sexual candour.

“It was like an atom bomb being dropped on my head since she was not only reluctant but completely against doing the lovemaking scene. I could understand her discomfort, but I badly needed the damn scene!” says the baffled director.

So how did Anurag Kashyap squiggle his way out of this mess? He says, “I told her I would change the scene without having any idea what that change was going to be! All night, I thought of doing a scene that could be simulated and also funny.” Finally things turned out well, and Anurag admits that it was Ayesha’s insistence that helped “his lazy mind to think” of a cooler, zanier way to shoot a lovemaking scene. “After all the alterations that we had to go through, this scene turned out to be the best that I have shot so far,” smiles Anurag.

Ayesha has been known to put her foot down when it comes to compromising her idea of virtues. She refused the Yashraj Films-produced Neal and Nikki since she wasn’t prepared for ‘bold’ scenes in a ‘modern’ film. In addition, she has refused Nagesh Kukunoor’s forthcoming film since it also has a kissing scene. A strange demand considering that it was this filmmaker whose Dor actually opened many doors for Takia.
