Shahid Kapoor was supposed to be playing the lead role in director duo Raj and DK’s ‘Farzi’, but because of his busy schedule and personal events (read marriage) he kept pushing the start of the film from November last year to June this year. The star first went away to London for ‘Shandaar’ and then got busy with ‘Udta Punjab’. Also, his wedding with Mira Rajput is on the cards.
Keeping this in mind, the directors have reportedly decided that it would be best to let him go. A source close to the film said “A lot of back and forth happened and Raj and DK tried working out Shahid’s dates but nothing materialised. Also, the directors were keen on beginning the shoot soon and it’s certain that Shahid will promote ‘Shandaar’ soon after his wedding. Therefore, they thought of replacing the actor and got Arjun Kapoor on board instead.”
The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kriti Sanon.
Though the news has not been officially confirmed, we caught up with Arjun Kapoor’s spokesman who said ”Arjun apart from Balki’s next is considering several scripts at the moment. When he does make a choice, the producers will make an official announcement about the same.”

Although this news is not confirmed but i believe Shahid will not be a part of this movie . Either he will be replaced by another actor or the movie will be shelved . Raj and DK have directed Shor in the City, Go Goa Gone, 99 and Happy Ending . I have only seen HE which i did not like . Their direction was appreciated in 99 and Shor in the City . Nawaz will play a Cop in this movie and it also stars Kriti Sanon . Arjun needs to pull up his socks after Finding Fanny and Tevar . He is becoming too choosy according to me . I can’t say about this but his movie with Balki and Kareena will be interesting . I have heard that he will play the role of a Unemployed Man in R Balki’s next . There is too much negativity for Arjun . Let’s hope he can improve his acting and script sense .
